*  Targeting P-Selectin During Coronary Interventions | JACC: Journal of the American College of Cardiology
In this issue of the Journal, Tardif et al. (16) present an interesting study that sought to assess the value of inclacumab, a novel P-selectin antagonist, to reduce myocardial damage during PCI. In the SELECT-ACS trial, a total of 544 patients with NSTEMI were randomly allocated to receive an infusion of 5 or 20 mg/kg of inclacumab or placebo (1:1:1) before coronary angiography. The primary endpoint, the increase of troponin I levels at 16 and 24 h, was evaluated in the 322 patients who eventually underwent PCI. Inclacumab 5 mg/kg had no effect on any efficacy outcome measure. However, placebo-adjusted geometric mean percent changes in troponin with inclacumab 20 mg/kg were −22.4% at 16 h (p = 0.066) and −24.4% at 24 h (p = 0.053). In addition, in this group, peak troponin was reduced by 23.8% (p = 0.054) and the area under the curve over 24 h by 33.9% (p = 0.075) compared with placebo. These results were paralleled by the corresponding creatine kinase-myocardial band findings (reduction of ...

*  NCI Studies of Hydrazine Sulfate
In the 1980s and early 1990s, the National Cancer Institute sponsored studies of hydrazine sulfate to evaluate whether the compound might improve patient survival or help reverse cancer cachexia, a wasting syndrome that occurs in many patients who have advanced cancer. This syndrome profoundly affects patients quality of life as well as their health, causing weight loss, fatigue, weakness, and loss of appetite. After hydrazine sulfate showed promising results in a small pilot study, three large-scale, randomized clinical trials of the compound were conducted in patients with advanced cancers. These three clinical trials did not show any improvement in cancer patient survival, weight loss, or quality of life from hydrazine sulfate. In two of the three clinical trials, patients were permitted to take tranquilizers, alcohol, and barbiturates. Some people believed these compounds may have interfered with hydrazine sulfate, based on animal and laboratory studies. At the request of Congress, the ...

*  hANOVER fIST: THE TRUTH ABOUT HYDRAZINE SULFATE - DR. GOLD SPEAKS (reposted in its entirety in case posting is "disappeared")
Secondly, Internet sources have implicated hydrazine sulfate to be toxic or carcinogenic. Although hydrazine sulfate is carcinogenic-i.e., can cause cancer-in some weanling mice given the drug in their drinking water since birth, there has never been a case of human cancer reported as a result of HS therapy . (In contrast, routinely administered chemotherapy drugs are commonly carcinogenic-and can produce up to 26% of "second cancers.") Perhaps more importantly, the influential medical journal Annals of Internal Medicine presented a "Brief Communication" (and accompanying editorial) in its December 5, 2000 issue, of a single patient who allegedly died of fatal hepatorenal failure as a result of "HS" therapy. The only trouble was that no firm evidence was presented in this paper that the patient in question ever took hydrazine sulfate. The authors of this article stated: "We could not obtain samples of the product he [the patient] ingested." This means there was no possibility of a direct ...

THE TRUTH ABOUT HYDRAZINE SULFATE - DR. GOLD SPEAKS. July 14 , 2004 Last amended: February 21, 2008. See also: MedTruth Blog A commentary on truth in medicine. For some time now I have refrained from making any comments in regard to information on the Internet concerning hydrazine sulfate. My silence has been occasioned by the hope that our federal and prominent private-sector cancer agencies would endorse the use of hydrazine sulfate, in the wake of clinical trials demonstrating its effectiveness in the treatment of cancer.. But this hasn't happened. Quite the opposite. A casual examination of the Internet shows that information in regard to hydrazine sulfate is composed of a mixture of "endorsements" of hydrazine sulfate from individual patients and their advocates-and the seemingly authoritative disparagement of it by cancer establishment sources. It is this "condemnation" of hydrazine sulfate I wish to address-the scientific gobbledygook of so-called studies, side effects, carcinogenicity, ...

*  How to Make hydrazine sulfate with the hypochlorite and the Ketazine process « Science Experiments :: WonderHowTo
Hydrazine sulfate has many uses, but most notably, it's been used under the trade name of Sehydrin, a treatment for anorexia, cachexia and some even think cancer. But for we DIY chemists, it's useful for something entirely different- as a substitute for the more dangerous pure liquid hydrazine in chemical reactions. NurdRage shows you how to make it via some hypochlorite and the Ketazine process. Warning: The reaction produces toxic gases and products and uses corrosive chemicals; gloves must be worn. Simply adding in a stoichiometric amount of base will release the hydrazine in-site and

Hi, my name is Dan I'm 24 and my mum has died. Although the details of exactly what happened are vague because I don't want to cause my older sister (who lived with her and found her) any more grief but ultimately my mum suffered a major head injury and was a tragic accident. She was taken to A&E near to where they lived and was transferred immediately to St Georges in Tooting where she was taken to their neuro ICU, this was the early hours of Saturday morning on 25 January 2014, she died 10 days later. At the time of the accident, my sister called me to let me know the situation and because of my profession (medical insurance) when she said she was being transferred to St Georges neuro ICU I knew then just how serious this was. I was drinking heavily with friends at the time but left straight away and jumped in the taxi and just managed to get to Frimley Park A&E before she got transferred - she saw me, and said "Dan" I said "mum" and that was it, the last time I spoke to her - she never ...

The capital city of this bone-chilling European country is dressed to the nines in global warming, from Coca-Cola 'Hopenhagen' ads overlooking its quaint canals, to huge globes pasted with polar bears and receding glaciers. All this advertising makes all the lovely Scandinavian Christmas decorations look dim in comparison. This is, of course, COP 15- the most anticipated UN climate change convention since Kyoto twelve years ago. Despite the pessimism that pervaded the run-up to this conference, hope was the buzzword on the first day of the conference. In an afternoon news briefing, Yvo de Boer, ever the optimist about these meetings, stayed on message, telling reporters that it wasn't for nothing that major heads of state like President Obama were changing their schedules to arrive at the end of the conference. They want to see a deal, de Boer said, and news from across the Atlantic that was first reported during the midday hours here in Copenhagen, may very well increase the odds.. As news ...

The use of hydrazine sulfate to treat cancer is discussed extensively in many articles on the internet. The reports are unusually positive which drew me to try to understand its biochemical mechanism. That is the only approach I can take to convince myself as to their validity and how reproducible the results can be expected to be. Such an understanding is also essential for taking the next step, perfecting the treatment to achieve its full potential. I first concluded the conventionally accepted theory, identified in every report, was seriously flawed. Did this mean that the positive results were exaggerated? As an experiment (mental), I decided to assume that the results were valid and try to identify the correct mechanism. I believe I have done that and have concluded the treatment, properly applied, has the potential of being unusually effective. In some cases it could act as a stand-alone treatment and others as contributing to a broader treatment strategy. I suspect that the lack of ...
