*  Business Blog Consulting: Everything about Corporate Blogs and Business Blogging.
I was recently running a workshop about Word of Mouse Marketing using social media from blogging to microblogging, podcasting to video casting and it was heartening to see that about 8 per cent of the 140 attendees were blogging about their business.. However I then became disheartened as most of those blogs had been developed on a platform such as Blogger or WordPress.com.. If anyone tells you that business blogging is not a significant investment of your time, they clearly are not a business blogger developing online content and implementing a link building strategy to bring traffic to their business blog.. Don't get me wrong, blogging is a terrific online marketing strategy if executed effectively. I could think of no other way that I would have attracted as many leads to my business so cost effectively without a business blog.. However ...

*  On Blogging, Having An Opinion, and the Quality and Trustworthiness of Your Voice - Rethink.
Way too long: the essential point is that bloggers were paid to not merely run ads, but promote the content of those ads. I feel sorry for Jeff Jarvis, because he's fighting the good fight, and I'm not sure how this war is to be waged. Can we tell people that getting paid to promote stuff is bad for blogging? That the promotion of stuff requires a credibility with one's readers that is established independent of an ad campaign, if not opposed to the very concept of being an ad?. The deep problem Jarvis is running up against is that blogging does have to become profitable in some way to the people blogging. This blog you're reading now is partly the result of years of education, and I still do research, check sources, and ask people questions before I sit down to write anything.. The idea that quality blogging can just emerge out of nowhere at no cost to anyone is preposterous. But many of us who do ...

And that is when, you realise that if he or she is the one for you or not, if you can stay with a person like that for your whole life or not. Of course lah, by that time both of you wouldn't be hesitate to fart in front of each other already.. In conclusion, don't get married too fast. =P. ----------------------------------------. Well, the thing I didn't know that is the same theory is applied to blogging. After this month, I'm officially blogging for one year already. It's sad to say this but, be frank, I have already lost my passion for blogging already.. I used to blog daily, but now, I skip blogging more and more, my entries are getting shorter and shorter, and boring stuffs in my blog are getting more and more.. I thought that it's because I'm busy these days. Then I think about it again, yes, I'm really busy these days. I have done a lot of things, moved to a new place, and a lot of things are still ...

*  6 tips for low-cost academic blogging
I don't have time," is the worst excuse not to blog. Yet, I hear it often from fellow academics. My advisor from grad school recently asked, "How can you write tons of papers and grant proposals, teach your classes, advise students, take care of your family and still have time to blog? Where does that time come from?" Embedded in his question is an assumption that blogging has to take time. Were this true, I couldn't recommend it to Ph.D. students or pre-tenure profs. The secret to low-cost academic blogging is to make blogging a natural byproduct of all the things that academics already do. ...

*  Blogging It: About Me
Anyway, I've been reading several blogs for a few years now, and I thought it might be fun to join in this little world. The original title of this blog was 'My Boy Mom Blog,' but, it just didn't seem to fit all that I was blogging about. So, it's been renamed to 'blogging it,' because, well, that pretty much covers everything, right? If I'm thinking it, experiencing it, or believing it, then I'm blogging it, too. I'm hopeful that you'll find something beneficial in reading whatever it is you read about; whether it's a laugh, an idea, or a prayer. ...

*  Hard Working Species, The 'Striver Scrounger' #BADD2014 Blogging Against Disablism Day 2014 | Benefit Scrounging Scum
It's been quite a journey! Whatever the politicians may say about not letting people fall out of the workplace, or that unemployment is bad for your health, for me, without that ten years of secure support I would never have managed to learn to live with my disability, let alone consider volunteering or working. The first few years I was in shock, then there were the years I had to learn to become an expert in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and all the associated skills needed to manage an unpredictable, rare condition. In 2007 I started blogging as a way of reaching out to other disabled people in similar situations. In the back of my mind was always the vague idea that blogging would be a good way of discovering whether I had any talent as a writer, that maybe it might lead somewhere, but it was a fun and interesting hobby which helped with being so isolated. Gradually I started to learn more about disability, about communication and became more interested in the emerging social ...

*  How to Use Guest Blogging for Effective Link Bu...
Behind every successful search engine optimization strategy is a great link-building plan to bring in new inbound links to your website's best pages. This is also the step where many SEO strategies fall apart. Link building is hard work, and it's very different than what many people have done before. However, inbound links are still the most important ranking factor to Google and other search engines, so it is critically important that you do great link building if you intend to rank for competitive keywords.

Because one of the best link-building tactics available is guest blogging, let's examine a step-by-step plan for how to get started using guest blogging for link building.

*  Blogging on Peer Reviewed Research Icon
Just so you all are aware that, starting now at least, the bayblab should include the "blogging on peer reviewed research" icon. It's actually a great idea, that I first ran across at sandwalk. The site where this idea is based out of http://bpr3.org/. Check it out for the concept and guidelines for its intented use. Basically this can aggregate blog posts about original research articles. The aggregation system isn't quite up yet as I understand it. However you can use technorati to check out the newest blog posts that use the icon here(I will be checking out this link regularly). To me this is a great idea and I hope it gets implemented by good science blogs, so that means us. Here's hoping that some spamming moron doesn't abuse it somehow ...

*  Viral blogging contest: Do We Have Hand?
Jane here from Dearauthor.com. We are running a viral blogging experiment to see if bloggers can have an affect on the real world market. This idea was inspired by Anne Frasier's blog entry about her dwindling print runs. (I can't find the exact post). The "hand" term is stolen from a famous Seinfeld episode where George tries to gain "hand" in his relationship by doing everything opposite to his instincts. (no original ideas here).. I chose Nalini Singh's Slave to Sensation because I really loved the book and because she is a new author without any significant exposure. Ms. Singh lives in New Zealand and will be doing limited promotional work outside the internet (ie no signings). Slave to Sensation is her first single title mass market. She's written 5 category romances. I had never heard of her when she emailed me to ask if I would review her book.. The chances of Singh making it onto the USA Today bestseller list or any other list is not ...

Blogging science. Dr Ben Goldacre, Dr Jennifer Rohn, Ed Yong. Thursday 28 February 2008. 7.00pm-8.30pm. What is it like to work in a lab? What's the latest science news? How can you tell good science from quackery? The answers to all these questions can be found in blogs, and in this event you'll meet the people who are writing them.. There are literally tens of millions of blogs online. Some read like personal diaries, while others are built round news or analysis, like reading a column in a newspaper. With so many blogs out there, it's no surprise that science is well-covered from lots of different angles. Ben Goldacre goes on the hunt for outrageous claims, dubious statistics and credulous science reporting in Bad Science, an extension of his popular column in the Guardian. Jennifer Rohn reveals the culture and everyday life of a jobbing scientist in her blog on Nature Network London, Mind the Gap. In Ed Yong's ...

Would you like to make a bit of revenue from your blog? Here's how you can make your content work for you by adding Google AdSense to your Tumblr blog.

Blogging can be serious work, and with your easy-to-use Tumblr blog, you might be posting more than ever. You may be writing about your beautiful vacation, sharing the newest wallpaper you designed in Photoshop, or explaining how to get your dog to quit barking at frogs.

Either way, your blog takes real time, and it might be nice to make a little money from it. Google AdSense has enabled bloggers around the world to get ad revenue from their content. The Tumblr Terms of Service require that your blog be used primarily for blogging, but they do allow you to use AdSense or other ad systems as long as that's not the primary focus of your site. It's fairly easy, so let's see how to add it ...

Made me wonder…what if, in exercising my ability to blog what I want to blog about, I chose to say absolutely nothing about the blogging indaba? So what if Mental blogged only about toilets? How does this fit in with the virulent reactions about the idea against message dissemination from forums like the indaba? MMK wrote, quite eloquently, "A central goal of these kinds of meetings is to move ideas and knowledge out of their tacit forms â€" where they are owned by individuals and received by individuals - to codified forms. Not for the benefit of the blogger but rather to profit the administrator who enables and 'owns' the codifying space. Knowledge when it is codified is made into a standardized message that is precious in the marketplace, far more in many ...
