The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction of DGAT1 peptides corresponding to putative substrate binding sites with different types of model membranes. The aim of this study is to present the accumulation of microbial oil for biodiesel feedstock from low cost feedstock. The authors demonstrated the overproduction of TAG from glycerol in engineered Saccharomyces cerevisiae via the glycerol-3-phosphate pathway by overexpressing the major TAG synthesis. The content of TAG in the engineered strain yielded 8.2% TAG, representing a 2.3-fold improvement compared to the wild-type strain.
