This report presents interim findings from the evaluation of Safer Sex Intervention, a clinic-based intervention intended to reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and increase condom use among high-risk sexually active female adolescents. Early findings from the 9-month follow-up suggest that the Safer Sex Intervention (SSI) successfully addressed some antecedents of sexual risk behavior. SSI achieved impacts on an important sexual risk behavior outcome: fewer program participants had sexual intercourse without birth control in the last 90 days.
