Transfer factor was administered to a patient with progressive primary tuberculosis who failed to respond to antituberculous therapy and in whom a defect in cellular immunity to tuberculous infection was shown by in-vivo and in-vitro studies of cell-mediated immunity. The administration of transfer factor to this patient resulted in the development of immunologic reactivity, which was accompanied by dramatic improvement of her clinical condition. This observation strongly suggests that transfer factor in conjunction with antituberculous therapy was instrumental in the resolution of the patients infection. ...
Transfer factors are essentially small immune messenger molecules that are produced by all higher organisms. They are an ancient part of the immune system and represent "an archaic dialect in the language of cells." Transfer factors were originally described as immune molecules that are derived from blood or spleen cells that cause antigen-specific cell-mediated immunity, primarily delayed hypersensitivity and the production of lymphokines, as well as binding to the antigens themselves. They have a molecular weight of approximately 5000 Daltons and are composed entirely of amino acids. Transfer factors were discovered by Henry Sherwood Lawrence in 1954. A second use of the term transfer factor applies to a likely different entity derived from cow colostrum or chicken egg yolk which is marketed as an oral dietary supplement under the same name citing claims of benefit to the immune system. In 1942, Merrill Chase discovered that cells taken from the peritoneum of Guinea pigs that had been ...
A composition for use in cardiovascular therapy includes transfer factor. The transfer factor may be nonmammalian transfer factor, such as that derived from eggs, or mammalian transfer factor, such as that derived from colostrum. The composition may also include one or more of the following: an LDL receptor-binding element; a blood flow-enhancing element; a cholesterol reducing element; a fat oxidation prevention element, and an antioxidant. Treatment methods include enlisting the immune system of a subject receiving therapy to attack pathogens that cause inflammation of blood vessels or to otherwise reduce inflammation of blood vessels.

The 11th International Conference on Transfer Factor, organized by the University of Nuevo Leon and professors Rayes Tamez Guerra and Cristina Rodrigez Padilla, was held in Monterrey, Mexico, March 1-4. The field has dwindled from its glorious days in the 1970s, due to the rejection of the concept of transfer of antigen-specific information to uncommitted lymphocytes using a structurally unidentified low-molecular-weight cell extract. But clinical research continues in several parts of the worl
A transfer factor is a protein molecule that is taken from a human or animal that has already developed protection (immunity) against a certain disease. (Look in I Recommend box on right to order. The only company to order from is 4Life. They hold the patent. I can vouch for them. Any other company that claims to sell Transfer Factor is not to be trusted.). Transfer factors are used for infectious conditions in people with weak immune systems. These infectious conditions include bacteria or viruses in the blood stream (septicemia), sinus infections, bronchitis, influenza, swine flu, the common cold, shingles, chickenpox, hepatitis B, fungal infections such as coccidioidomycosis, yeast infections (candidiasis), parasitic infections such as leishmaniasis and cryptosporidiosis, and leprosy. Transfer factors are also used against infections caused by viruses such as cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Epstein-Barr virus; by bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium fortuitum, and ...

Hello all, My mother in law went to the doctor for a cough that wouldnt go away, they did a chest x-ray and found what they called a large mass in her lungs. Next the did a CT, then a PET, then a breathing test, and attempted to do a bronchoscopy, but nothing showed in her bronchial tubes. The next step is a needle biopsy. I asked the doctor what the PET scan showed and all he said was the mass was hot. She is in denial and not pushing to get these tests done quickly, just waiting
True as far as I know their have been no human to human transfers. However if an individual who has the a garden variety flu(Type A The most serious type with the most acute symptoms. It is also the most common form, usually breaking out every two or three years; Type B: Similar symptoms to type A, but not as serious. The outbreaks happen every four to five years; Type C: The mildest type, with symptoms similar to a cold.)gets exposed to an animal or animal products with H5N1 gene swapping can occur. If the correct combination of genes are swapped then H5N1 can be transmitted human to human. Genetic scrambling. (A) H5N1 mutates quickly and is notorious for grabbing large blocks of genetic code from viruses that infect other species, a process called reassortment. For that reason, it has particular potential to combine with a human flu virus, creating a new viral strain that spreads rapidly from person to person. The emergence of such a virus would mark the beginning of a potentially devastating ...

Colostrum provides over one hundred times the amount of immunoglobins as regular milk. Colostrum is also rich in transfer factors that educate and modulate the immune system and successfully teach it to recognize specific antigens. These transfer factors also help coordinate the immune system to be able to recognize the difference between normal tissue and pathological microbes or abnormal tissue growth. These important transfer factors include hydrogen peroxide and IgG immunoglobins.. The transfer factors from colostrum are able to boost natural killer cell (NK) activity and calm a hyperactive immune system through activating T suppressor cells. This improves the intelligence of the immune system and allows it to function with greater efficiency. These transfer factors also act as a catalytic memory agent for the immune system to alert naïve immune cells of an impending danger.. These colostrum based IgG immunoglobins can literally save someones life who is suffering from acquired ...
11. If Transfer Factor™ is so effective why hasnt the pharmaceutical industry jumped on Transfer Factor™? I think that is exactly what we are seeing in many foreign countries notably China, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Japan. In the US transfer factor has had an interesting history. The idea of transfer factor flies in the face of conventional immunology. In the 50s antibiotics were the golden child of medicine followed in the 60s by steroids like cortisone for inflammation and the synthetic steroid hormones like ethinyl estrogen and progestin that were used to create the birth control pill. After an initial delay transfer factor hit its heyday in the 70s and early 80s. Results however were inconsistent as researchers dove in sometimes with more enthusiasm than skill. The key feature that was missing in these investigations was a dependable assay technique for quality control of the product. The quality control issue was not resolved until the mid 1980s. Given that ...

The topical retinoid approved for psoriasis is tazarotene gel and cream and is available in 0.05% and 0.1% formulations. People with type 2 diabetes are regularly screened for heart disease, which may also be advisable for psoriasis patients, he said. No significant differences were found between the two groups in either psoriasis blood type diet rate of disease control at weeks four and eight or the percentage change in the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index score from baseline to weeks four and eight. Dry eczema conditions and seasonal psoriasis may benefit from a humidifier set to around 35-45% humidity in cold and dry seasons, and a dehumidifier in the hot, humid summer months. The Paleo diet has worked wonders for me.
Since cancer can be associated with a TH1-deficient state, use of transfer factor should be considered as part of your therapy of immune augmentation in cancer. Factors that decrease cell-mediated immunity and TH2 dominance are age, cytotoxic cancer treatments, post-surgery stress, metastatic disease, etc.(6) Cell-mediated immunity (CMI) can be a predictor of morbidity and mortality over the age of 60. In patients with liver metastases or colon rectal carcinoma, CMI is predictive of survival.(7) Decrease in cell-mediated immunity, along with an increase in circulating immune complexes, indicates unfavorable prognosis in cancer patients.(8) Studies show that patients who have multiple skin cancers had impaired CMI.(9) In a study of gynecological cancer patients compared to control groups, those on chemotherapy had a decrease in immune perimeters (i.e., refractory decreased cell-mediated immunity), whereas the group getting immunotherapy (in this case, thymopeptin) maintained their immune ...
Our 10+ year old golden was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma (cancer) in April of this year. He had his spleen removed, thankfully before it ruptured, and there was an 11 lb. tumor. Biopsies of his liver and lymph nodes were clear, but we were still devastated, as the oncologist told my husband that without chemo he would give our dog 4-6 weeks. We chose not to put him through chemo, as that would just prolong the inevitable, and we did not want him to be burdened with the effects. Instead, after much research, we changed his diet to an extremely healthy, high protein, low carb variety. (We have been an Iams family, but moved to Evo, as it has a much better ratio of protein). In addition, I read nothing but good things about K9 Immunity Plus (with transfer factor) and have been giving our dog these supplements 3 times per day for the past nearly 8 months. He is a senior dog, with the usual issues that large senior dogs can have, but you would not know he is sick. He has an extremely healthy ...
Intro: 5% of stem cell transplantations (SCT) are complicated by bronchiolitis obliterans (BO), possibly leading to severe, irreversible airway obstruction. Identifying risk factors for adverse outcome after acquiring BO enhances efficiency of patient monitoring. Measured alveolar volume (VA) in single breath measurement of carbon-monoxide transfer factor (TLCO) is affected by lung volume and obstruction. An early, strong decline in VA after SCT might be a risk factor for mortality in BO.. Aim: To assess measured VA as risk factor for mortality in BO.. Method: Pulmonary function (PFT) data of 37 patients with extensive pulmonary chronic graft vs. host disease after SCT was used. PFT-data consisted of spirometry, TLCO measurements performed according to ATS/ERS-criteria (Vmax-Spectra PFT-equipment by Carefusion).. Association between measured VA one year (359 d; SD 44) after SCT and mortality (on day 1600) was evaluated by constructing an ROC-curve. A VA-cutoff value of 70.5%-predicted was used ...
