Schools appear to have a particular effect on the likelihood that a young person enters an elite university. Our results indicate that place factors account for half of the difference in utilization between high and low utilization regions, while the rest reflects patient demand. We further document heterogeneous impacts of place across socioeconomic groups. KUNA: The quality of graduates depends on a range of factors. Some of such factors include the ability and intelligence of the individual, educational instructors, physical resources, duration of study and the required content. Therefore we need to be open about what constitutes quality. We believe everyone has the capability to reach their full potential if they are provided the appropriate training and coaching focused on producing results. We believe many graduates are raw talents that need to be coached into gaining hands on exposure and experience. Only then they are able to develop fully. The government institutions can only absorb 25 per cent of school leavers. Government institutions do not have space to accommodate the reaming 75 per cent. The private institutions are carrying the burden to provide training for some of the 75 per cent of school leavers. The MPI for Polymer Research has not only made a name for itself within the framework of training international junior scientists. For more than 20 years it has been actively training young school leavers as apprentices in three fields of work. School leavers can choose to undergo an apprenticeship from the following areas: as a industrial mechanic with a focus on precision mechanics, as a chemical laboratory assistant in cooperation with the University of Mainz, or as an office administrator, all trained by experts with the backing of modern infrastructure. Within the framework of a cooperation project between the institute and BASF the MPI-P will soon offer trainee physics laboratory assistants the chance to experience working conditions in a research institute.
