As the narrative began to turn from herd immunity and low risk to this might be something major after all and were not ready, my thoughts turned to the residents of Kingswood, our large amount of elderly and low waged/vulnerable residents, how badly this pandemic could potentially impact them, and I felt sucker punched and heartbroken.. I decided we needed to have a project set up, practised, rehearsed, cohesive and ready to support residents through the peak.. Unfortunately, at this point, one of the Kingswood Councillors was away on holiday and 3 were in isolation. Pat (Labour Group Leader) was running round, attending leadership meetings and briefings, researching, and trying to get all the updated information, to pass on to the Labour Councillors, and help us keep pace with the change of tack. That left only me on the ground.. I have a background in Community Development so I wasnt worried. Im a qualified Community Development Worker, so I decided to put my skills to use.. On the ...
Durham Region councillors voted Wednesday June 29 to request a medical opinion from Durham Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Kyle, on the effects of allowing the proposed incinerator to vent double the amount of a critical pollutant known as PM2.5 than was originally predicted. The motion, moved by Oshawa councillor Nancy Diamond and seconded by Ajax councillor Shaun Collier, also asked for details on costs of conditions of approval and for details around the co-ownership contract with York Region.. The incinerator Certificate of Approval (C. of A.) allows for twice the amount of PM2.5 -- fine particulate matter, 2.5 microns in diameter -- that was assessed in the Environmental Assessment. The application for the C. of A. had no studies of the effects on human health of the higher emissions. PM2.5 is known as a non-threshold pollutant, meaning that there is no level of exposure that is considered harmless. The level of PM2.5 at the proposed Courtice site is already close to the Canada Wide ...

Today (Friday 12 February) the council said that it accepted that a mistake had been made with the sums.. As a result £246,000 could be used for services such as schools and homes in the coming year. Finance officials would allocate £186,000 to the councils general fund, £50,000 to the budget for schools and £10,000 to the housing budget.. Councillor Sykes said: Obviously Im pleased that weve got this money to protect a small element of services cut and well be discussing how we think this should be used.. The final decision will be made at a meeting of the full council on Thursday 25 February at the County Cricket Ground in Hove. The meeting will be open to the public.. Councillor Sykes also criticised Labour for proposing a council tax rise of 3.99 per cent when it had blocked a rise of 3.5 per cent four years ago.. The move had cost the council £4 million in the coming financial year alone, he said.. And changes to the council tax support provided for some of the poorest people in ...
Nathan I appreciate your post, however unless Council undertakes its own community engagement, in line with its adopted policy, the true community concern about options is an unknown and therefore difficult for you and your colleagues to present. Engagement by TfNSW by Facebook is simply NOT satisfactory and from what I am reading from attendees not a true record, or report of community concerns. That said I would respectfully request that Council undertake its own engagement and consultation, COVID free process, as soon as possible. The outcome of such a process will place Council in a much stronger position to argue concerns with the Government and test the veracity of the TfNSW consultation. It was also very encouraging that Council has taken a bipartisan approach to this very, very significant issue. A Notice of Motion to undertake Councils own community engagement process, signed by several Councillors would I am sure receive significant community support. ...

Councillors were updated yesterday on the councils progress in implementing the new National Environment Standards for Freshwater and regional water plan changes that came into effect two months ago.. While progress had been made in most areas, councillors had questions about the requirement for farm plans, which one councillor said were creating a traffic jam.. Between the announcement of the new national rules at the beginning of August and the end of September, the council had received 102 public inquires, a report to councillors written by consents manager Joanna Gilroy said.. That led to staff thanking councillors for approving an annual budget increase of $1million to hire 16 new staff to ensure Otago complied with the new national freshwater standards in August.. A new staff member would start next month to help respond to public inquiries, which had spiked.. Other progress included creating an information hub on its website about the new national and regional water rules, training ...
NOT ABUSE THEIR POSITION FOR PERSONAL GAIN.. AZAPO will mandate its councillors to interact with the communities they serve through ward committees and other community organs, such as street committees, community policing fora, and where these do not exist or are inadequate, AZAPO councillors will assist the community in creating them. No AZAPO councillor will live outside the community/ ward they represent. Within the limits of the current governance system, AZAPO will recall any councillor or councillors the community wants removed due to poor performance. 3.2 ROOT OUT CORRUPTION. Therefore corruption is far from being a victimless crime, its victims are the thousands of people who need the state to deliver much needed services.. To root out corruption, AZAPO will ensure that municipalities have strong internal and external supervision, and ...

He said that it was a needless and expensive route to ask the Councils Ethics Officer to investigate how they conduct their business as local representatives given that there was never any clear evidence of wrong-doing.. When the dispersal of the €180,000 was being discussed by the Tuam area councillors, it was the four Fianna Fáil members who used their majority vote to dictate where the money would be spent - the other three councillors were left out in the cold.. This infuriated Cllr Andrew Reddington (FG), Cllr Pete Roche (FG) and Cllr Karey McHugh (Ind) who accused the Fianna Fáil councillors of pulling a political stunt.. They also took issue with the fact that the other municipal districts arrived at a general consensus as to how the money should be spent.. A behind closed doors meeting between the seven councillors to discuss the dispersal of the fund that was agreed, but it never took place.. In prompted Cllr Reddington to table a motion at a full Galway County Council ...

Since my election in 2014, I have continuously worked hard for my community. I have kept residents updated on issues of relevance to their own areas. A sports source familiar with NHL processes said that description in the minutes was misleading, to say the least.. The minutes, obtained by the Star, added that an unidentified councillor said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman recommended Roustan, chairman of GTA Sports and Entertainment. Furthermore, the league supported a second Toronto franchise, the councillor said. But a senior NHL official said that was incorrect.. Councillors also acknowledged Roustans credibility and noted his involvement would provide Markham with a connection to attract an NHL team to the city, the minutes said.. Rea, who is objecting to the use of public funds for the arena, said Scarpitti and Conrad should end their involvement in the project because the inaccurate information is designed to soften any council opposition to Roustan. Council has not indicated publicly if it is supportive of Roustan since the secret meeting.. Keeping these meetings in secret suggests they (councillors) dont want us to know the real ...

THE fight against controversial plans to add fluoride to Southamptons tap water is being taken to the top by one community leader.. Health chiefs have already voted in favour of fluoridation and are working with Southern Water to implement the scheme, but the campaign against the mass medication plans is still going strong.. Despite a public consultation in which 72 per cent of people living in the affected area voted against fluoridation, bosses from South Central Strategic Health Authority (SHA) approved the plans last month. It means 195,000 residents in Southampton, Totton and parts of Eastleigh will receive fluoridated water to improve dental health among children. To the editor:. Incumbent councilors at-large Melissa Cox and Jamie OHara do their homework. They also respectfully listen to their constituents, whether they agree with them or not. They deserve to be reelected.. Candidates for councilors at large Chris DiMercurio Sicuranza, Peter Cannavo, John McCarthy and Joe Ciolino also seem to share those traits. Any two of them would be good additions to the Gloucester City Council.. However, I cannot make the same recommendation for incumbent Jen Holmgren. One thing that councilor at large Holmgren does not do is her homework, not consistently. Neither is she responsive or respectful to constituents. She not only never returned my calls or responded to my emails, when I saw her in person she angrily told me that she would not talk to me, listen to me or read anything I send her because she trusts the opinion of the chairman of the Gloucester Board of Health on the topic of fluoridation. But, its not just me who she ignores and abuses.. I was forwarded ...
An opposition Pailin commune councillor was arrested on Tuesday shortly after he posted a video on social media rejecting Prime Minister Hun Sens offer to CNRP officials to jump ship and join the CPP in anticipation of the partys potential dissolution. On Sunday, the premier said CNRP defectors would be welcomed into the ruling partys fold and be able to keep their jobs, an offer very few councillors have accepted so far. A day later, Stung Kach Commune Councillor Chhun Sithy live-streamed his rejection of Hun Sens offer on his Facebook account. He was arrested less than 24 hours later and was still being questioned at the Pailin Provincial Court last night.
DICOM is a standard developed by American College of Radiology (ACR) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). In the beginning of the 1980s, it was very difficult for anyone other than manufacturers of computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging devices to decode the images that the machines generated. Radiologists and medical physicists wanted to use the images for dose-planning for radiation therapy. ACR and NEMA joined forces and formed a standard committee in 1983. Their first standard, ACR/NEMA 300, was released in 1985. Very soon after its release, it became clear that improvements were needed. The text was vague and had internal contradictions. In 1988 the second version was released. This version gained more acceptance among vendors. The image transmission was specified as over a dedicated 2 pair cable (EIA-485). The first demonstration of ACR/NEMA V2.0 interconnectivity technology was held at Georgetown University, May 21-23, 1990. Six companies participated in ...

As a sophomore at Garnet Valley High School, Kristen knew she wanted to be a physical therapist. Perhaps it was her fascination with how the body moves, or her desire to motivate someone to achieve beyond their wildest imagination, physical therapy was the perfect profession to combine science with caring for people. Kristen began her therapy career at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital after graduating from Ithaca College with her Masters Degree, and subsequently completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Temple University. She quickly developed a passion for treating clients with neurological conditions, prompting her to pursue an advanced certification in Neuro-Developmental Technique, a hands-on technique for the treatment of individuals with hemiplegia. The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard was developed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) for medical image archiving and retrieval. An extension to this implemented a standard named DICOM-RT for use in Radiation Oncology. There are currently seven radiotherapy-specific DICOM objects which include: RT Structure Set, RT Plan, RT Dose, RT Image, RT Beams Treatment Record, RT Brachy Treatment Record, and RT Treatment Summary Record. The type of data associated with DICOM-RT includes (1) Radiation treatment planning datasets (CT, MRI, PET) with radiation treatment plans showing beam arrangements, isodose distributions, and dose volume histograms of targets/normal tissues and (2) Image-guided radiation modalities such as Siemens MVision mega-voltage cone beam CT (MV-CBCT). With the advent of such advancing technologies, there has been an exponential increase in image data collected for each patient, and ...

Review from Vorfeed.net Artist: Ares Kingdom Album Title: Return to Dust Label: Nuclear War Now This is the first full-length album from Ares Kingdom, an American band featuring members of Order From Chaos and Vulpecula. They play thrashy death/black metal. The sound on this album is ideal. There s a touch of distortion on the guitars, which adds a perfect amount of roughness to the sound. The drums have lots of impact, the bass is just loud enough, and the vocals are way up front, a choice that makes them surprisingly easy to understand. In terms of style, this band sounds a bit like Order From Chaos, but the songwriting here is even more epic and involved. The mix of aggressive and introspective moments reminds me of early Destroyer 666, as do the inspiring lyrics, but Ares Kingdom conjure up a different sort of atmosphere. Between the chaotic riffs and meticulous song structure, it s as if the band is constantly treading on the line between order and disorder. Firestorm Redemption is a ...
Since the beginning of the nuclear age, there have been hundreds of serious and well-drilled plans about how the United States would use nuclear weapons in war, with the express purpose of winning. But when a military plan calls for the use of thousands of nuclear weapons, and assumes that your enemy will respond in kind, how do you define winning? Policy Analyst and Host Geoff Wilson sat down with Dr. Fred Kaplan to discuss his new book, The Bomb: Presidents, Generals, and the Secret History of Nuclear War.. ...

Last Wednesday, the Council unanimously voted in favor of OMalleys motion to amend the City Council rules to add the committee. The goals of the Committee are to exercise general oversight and make recommendations on the City of Bostons distribution of state and federal COVID-19 relief funding and programs.. With the city poised to receive hundreds of millions of dollars in federal support Edwards said the new committee makes perfect sense for oversight and transparency.. This new committee will really help concentrate all of the conversations about COVID recovery, and the hundreds of millions of dollars thats going to come to the City of Boston, said Edwards. The vaccination plan - for which health employees should have priority - was broken in San Andres de Giles, where at least 20 people were vaccinated irregularly, including two councilors from the Frente de Todos, that governs the municipality.. In the midst of the uproar among neighbors, the opposition bloc Juntos por el Cambio issued a statement to publicly denounce the situation and issue an energetic repudiation for the violation of existing protocols.. In turn, they announced that the vaccinated councilors were Laura Branchini and Mariana Cané, from the same political space as the mayor Carlos Puglielli, from whom they demanded an answer.. With total lack of respect for the residents of our city, making use of their political position, they arbitrated the necessary means tending to obtain personal benefit with the placement of the vaccine, they noted in the text and added: These events mourn society and who we represent. We believe that its time to stop using public office for ...

Two councillors are seeking a detailed report on exactly how the city missed a critical deadline for a multi-million dollar lawsuit.. The missed deadline cost the city its chance to sue for up to $20 million because of building woes, including leaks, heaving roofs, failing generators and explosions at Winnipegs $300-million water-treatment plant. The city had alleged the problems resulted from construction deficiencies.. The citys chief administrative officer has already fired a city lawyer over the issue.. Councillors Russ Wyatt (Transcona) and Janice Lukes (South Winnipeg-St. Norbert) raised a motion Wednesday to call for a detailed chronology of events and administrative actions that led up to the missed deadline in time for consideration at councils November meeting.. Would the Cabinet Member please tell this Council what support could be given to this group to help them get this plaque installed? Reply from the Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Innovation, Planning and Transportation I am aware of the group and I can confirm that this is a matter that has also been brought to the attention of Welsh Government officials in their role of administering the Barry Regeneration Area Board. Edinburgh Labour recently suspended Councillor Gordon Munro, longest serving of our three Leith Ward councillors, for three months. This punishment was issued for the perceived delinquency of disobeying orders to vote for the coalition budget motion in February 2021 when, instead Councillor Munro abstained from the vote. His reasons for abstaining: that the coalition budget did not serve the people of Leith (where some of the most acute deprivation in Scotland exists) nor Edinburgh properly.. Whilst it is recognised that other parties budgets may have proven even more detrimental to Leith and Edinburgh it must also be recognised that Councillor Munro is a long standing campaigner against cuts, a lifelong supporter of workers rights (particularly City of Edinburgh council workers) and a consistent and persistent advocate for those in his ward and beyond who suffer the pains of poverty. It is in this context that we ask Edinburgh Labour to rescind or commute this sentence to enable this ...

Councillor Bradford asked how long it takes to smoke a cigarette. He asked if it only takes 10 minutes to smoke one cigarette, how can 20 minutes of exposure to secondhand smoke be like smoking a pack of cigarettes? Ms. Rench said that the 20 minutes of exposure to secondhand smoke relates to the equivalent effect of a pack-a-day smoker. Councillor Bradford asked if this secondhand exposure refers to one smoker in the room or more than one smoker. Ms. Rench said that she does not have exact statistics on the number of smokers. Councillor Bradford said that if it only takes 10 minutes to smoke a cigarette, does it not make sense that 20 minutes of exposure to secondhand smoke would be more like smoking two cigarettes. Ms. Rench said that the effects on a first-hand active smoker are different from those produced by secondhand smoke. Councillor Talley said that he smoked briefly in the Marine Corps and could smoke a cigarette in a minute and a half, so this time correlation may not be accurate. ...
