Allergy to penicillin - at least as reported by patients - is both common and a challenge to clinicians, who must then decide what to prescribe for patients with infections. Several presentations on penicillin allergy were scheduled for presentation at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology annual meeting, cancelled because of concerns surrounding COVID-19 coronavirus. Here we review some of those abstracts as published by the academy.. How Reliable Is That Old Diagnosis?. Many patients who self-report or have previously been designated as being allergic to penicillin actually lose that label when they are re-tested, researchers found.. Hiral Thakrar, MD, of Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California, reported that 34 of 38 patients who had been considered by records as allergic to penicillin had negative skin tests to penicillin challenges (Abstract #176). One patient had a positive skin test, and the other three had negative skin tests, but were unable to complete an oral ...
Introduction: We aimed to retrospectively evaluate physical and radiological sinonasal examination findings of bronchial asthma patients with positive skin prick test results.. Material and method: A total of 126 bronchial asthma patients with positive skin prick test results were enrolled in the study. Of 126 patients, the skin prick test determined grain allergy in 78 patients (61.9 %), weed allergy in 70 patients (55.5 %), house dust allergy in 61 patients (48.4 %), tree pollen allergy in 38 patients (30.1 %), mushroom allergy in 19 patients (15 %), and animal hair allergy in 14 patients (11.1%). In nasal speculum examination under direct light, 52 % nasal septum deviations (n=66), 19 % hypertrophies of the turbinates (n=24), 19.8 % serous discharges (n=25), 3.1 % polyps (n=4) , 0.79 % nasal crusting (n=1), 0,79 % septal perforation (n=1), and 7.1% pallor of the mucous membranes or hyperemia (n=9) was identified. The computed tomography of paranasal sinuses were accessible in 91 patients, of ...

Before you leave your doctors office, youll know the results of a skin prick test or an intradermal test. A patch test may take several days or more to produce results.. A positive skin test means that you may be allergic to a particular substance. Bigger wheals usually indicate a greater degree of sensitivity. A negative skin test means that you probably arent allergic to a particular allergen.. Keep in mind, skin tests arent always accurate. They sometimes indicate an allergy when there isnt one (false positive), or skin testing may not trigger a reaction when youre exposed to something that you are allergic to (false negative). You may react differently to the same test performed on different occasions. Or you may react positively to a substance during a test but not react to it in everyday life.. Your allergy treatment plan may include medications, immunotherapy, changes to your work or home environment, or dietary changes. Ask your doctor to explain anything about your diagnosis or ...
Skin prick tests are regarded as means to determine sensitization and should be interpreted in the light of clinical history, clinical picture and results of testing for specific IgE. According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) [11], 10-50 allergen extracts are used for skin prick testing. The European guidelines propose a panel of 18 respiratory allergens of which, simultaneously, improved standardization is encouraged [12]. While skin prick testing in respiratory allergies is a reliable diagnostic tool, in food allergy more false positive results are seen on the one hand, while on the other hand over 95% of patients negative in skin prick tests with food do not present with immediate type symptoms [13]. The skin prick results should be compared to the positive control prick with histamine dihydrochloride 10 mg/ml [14]. The calculation of a histamine equivalent prick -index (HEP) area may be helpful, where the allergen prick size is correlated to the size of the ...
The re-emergence of tuberculosis as a significant public health threat has led to greatly renewed activity in tuberculin skin testing to identify infected persons. However, even use of the preferred skin test technique (intradermal injection of purified protein derivative via the Mantoux method) can lead to either false positive or false negative results. Interpretation of a Mantoux test can be influenced by cross reactions with other mycobacteria, intertester variation, host-response variation, and product related problems. At least 25 apparent false positive purified protein derivative skin test reactions in New York State in 1992 appeared to be associated with lots of the derivative produced by one manufacturer. These unexpected skin test results led to examination of a product with an altered appearance that may have caused the unanticipated responses. After announcement of these false positive results to the press, the company removed the product from the market. Food and Drug Administration

How can I tell if I have TB? Get a TB skin test or the QuantiFERON -TB Gold (QFT) blood test. If you have a positive reaction to either of the tests, you will probably be given other tests to see if you have TB infection or TB disease.. Where can I get a TB skin test or QFT? You can get a TB skin test from your doctor or local health department. You may be able to get the QFT at your local health department.. How are the TB tests given? For a TB skin test, a health care worker uses a small needle to put some testing material, called tuberculin, just under your skin. This is usually done on the lower inside part of your arm. After you get the test, you must return in 2 to 3 days to see if there is a reaction to the test. If there is a reaction, the size of the reaction is measured. If your health department does offer the QFT, some of your blood is taken for the test. You will be instructed on how to get the results of your test.. What if the test is negative? A negative skin test usually means ...
Skin testing for fungal allergy. In 1925, Van Leeuwen and colleagues described a remarkable frequency (50%) of mould skin sensitivity in Dutch asthmatics principally to Mucor, Penicillium and Aspergillus spp[i]. In 1928 both Hansen[ii] in Germany and Jimenez-Diaz[iii] with colleagues reported positive skin tests to crude extracts of fungi.. The European Community Respiratory Health Survey showed 36% of with asthma had one or more positive skin prick tests, defining that person as atopic. Of these, 4.4% were sensitized to Alternaria and 2.3% were sensitised to Cladosporium compared with 21% sensitized to house dust mite, 17% sensitized to grass pollen and 10% sensitized to cat. Fungal sensitisation is much less common than other sensitisations in the general population in Europe, but more common in those with severe asthma.. Skin prick tests involve pricking an extract of a suspected allergen onto the surface of the skin. Redness and swelling at the test site indicate a Type I allergy, which is caused by the antibody IgE. This is currently the preferred method for diagnosing Type I allergies as it is relatively cheap, rapid, and provides visual proof of the allergy, which encourages patient compliance for future testing and therapy. Interestingly, the number of allergens recommended for testing varies between countries: European guidelines suggest testing 18 allergens and the US recommend between 10 and 50.. However, as recently debated in the World Allergy Organization Journal, there are several problems associated with skin prick tests. Various factors including age, body mass, medications, and skin conditions such as eczema can influence the specificity and sensitivity of this test. There is a very small risk that patients may suffer an anaphylactic reaction and there are some concerns that this test can actually ...
So what is the latest? My son tested positive to dogs at age 2 and on the recommendation of the allergist, we gave our dog away. Since then his reactions have gotten worse (from no reaction when we had the dog to now his face blows up when he contacts some dogs). Ironically 3 years after testing positive, his latest skin test says hes not allergic - 2 weeks after his negative skin test we were visiting people with a dog and sure enough - 2 days of benedryl later he finally looked normal again. The allergist say it could be breed specific? I do actually believe the cat skin test as he doesnt have a problem being around cats (however, I now wonder if the first test was false positive and we had our cat put down because of it!!) At any rate does anyone have any experience with this breed specific allergy ...

Five hundred ninety-two drug users (IDUs) from community settings in San Francisco and Oakland, California, were screened for tuberculosis using the tuberculin skin test, as well as for skin test anergy using two controls: mumps antigen and either tetanus toxoid or Candida. Those nonresponsive to one skin test were more likely to be nonresponsive to another, even after stratifying by HIV status. Skin test anergy (defined as nonresponse to the tuberculin skin test and to both controls) occurred in 37% of HIV-positive and 11% of HIV-negative IDUs (p | O. 001).

A positive allergy blood test result indicates allergy-specific antibodies were detected in your blood. This almost always indicates the existence of an allergy. An allergy blood test will tell you exactly what you are allergic to. Unfortunately, it is possible to test positive for a substance that you have never had an allergic reaction to.. A negative result indicates that your immune system probably will not respond if you are exposed to the tested allergen. Therefore, you do not have a true allergy. When diagnosing a specific allergy using an allergy blood test, your allergy specialist will use caution while evaluating the results and consider your medical history and symptoms.. ...

Canterbury Health Laboratories runs an allergy skin prick testing clinic. Youll need to be referred to this clinic by your GP. This clinic often has long waiting times (six or more weeks). Children are given priority because getting a blood test from them can be more difficult. Some doctors may perform skin prick testing privately. Skin prick testing looks at how your skin responds to certain allergens. A solution containing the allergen (such as cat fur) is placed on your skin and your skin is then pricked. If your immune system has met this allergen before and is sensitised to it, youll develop a red bump, or wheal, within 10 to 20 minutes.. The test wont work properly if youre taking antihistamines. Youll need to stop all antihistamines at least 72 hours before your test. The test isnt reliable if performed within four weeks of anaphylaxis or an acute allergic reaction to food. If you have no reaction, it means youre unlikely to be allergic to that substance. But if you get a red bump, ...

People can have a positive response to a substance with allergy skin testing, but not have any problems with that substance in everyday life.. Skin tests are usually accurate. However, if the dose of allergen is large, even people who are not allergic will have a positive reaction.. Ive always been a fan of the brands acne facial wash, and Ive been putting this one off for quite some time now. Probably because Im a bit skeptical about glutathione products. Ive already finished my samples, and I can say that I did not have any negative skin reactions to it. Which means, no new pimples and no rashes. As for the whitening aspect of it, Im already fair skinned. So that pretty much is hard to see if there were any effects. For the collagen, I do think theres a minor improvement on my skin texture. I feel that it is less dry, and a bit bouncier than when I started. However, the effect is still pretty minimal since you really need to take it long term for anyone to see obvious results. Introduction There is growing evidence that some cases of chronic idiopathic urticaria are associated with various autoimmune diseases such as thyroid autoimmunity. The association between chronic urticaria (CU) and thyroid disorders has been a subject of controversy. Some reports link CU with hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. The frequency of thyroid antibodies in patients with chronic idiopathic urticaria reported in 2009 was 30%, which is higher than that previously reported. Objective This is a case-control study that aimed to detect the presence of markers of thyroid autoimmunity (thyroid autoantibodies with or without underlying abnormal thyroid functions) among a cohort of autologous serum skin test (ASST)-positive patients with CU in comparison with ASST-negative CU patients as well as with healthy controls, and correlating it to the severity of urticaria symptoms. Abstract Background Food allergy is a common clinical problem in adults. Given logistical barriers to conducting food challenges, the use of skin prick test (SPT) and specific IgE (sIgE) are important in establishing the diagnosis. The purpose of this study is to investigate the agreement of SPT and sIgE results in adults presenting to an allergy clinic with suspected food allergy. Methods Retrospective analysis of medical records at the University of Alberta Allergy Clinic between September 2013 and May 2015 was performed. Demographic, medical history as well as SPT and specific IgE results were recorded. Agreement of SPT and sIgE for individual food allergens was analyzed by Kappa statistics. Results Data from 260 patients was collected. The population was predominantly female, often having other atopic diseases. Very few food challenges were performed; IgE mediated food allergy was diagnosed in a minority (29.6 %) of cases. Kappa values which reached statistical significance were moderate for ...

Atopy (in 96%) and other clinical allergy (in 53 of the 55 atopic subjects) was a major feature. While common inhalant allergies were most common, it was striking that clear cut IgE mediated reactions, sometimes severe, to other foods occurred. Of other food allergies, egg allergy was commonest and usually presented with facial and laryngeal oedema and vomiting but sometimes with collapse. In the general population, about 40% are atopic (have positive results of skin prick tests to common inhaled allergens) and only about one third of these develop clinical allergy.15 In this study, the strong association with atopy and the fact that most atopic subjects were clinically allergic to common inhalant allergens suggests that peanut and nut allergy is occurring in a subpopulation with a strong propensity to develop allergies. And should Defra manage to extract yet another tail full from this animal, and even get to a laboratory in reasonable condition, he will still have to clear two skin tests to be declared out of restriction ...
Thirty subjects with CM allergy aged 6 to 17 years were enrolled. After therapy, 1 of 10 subjects in the SLIT group, 6 of 10 subjects in the SLIT/OITB group, and 8 of 10 subjects in the OITA group passed the 8-g challenge (P = .002, SLIT vs OIT). After avoidance, 6 of 15 subjects (3 of 6 subjects in the OITB group and 3 of 8 subjects in the OITA group) regained reactivity, 2 after only 1 week. Although the overall reaction rate was similar, systemic reactions were more common during OIT than during SLIT. By the end of therapy, titrated CM skin prick test results and CD63 and CD203c expression decreased and CM-specific IgG(4) levels increased in all groups, whereas CM-specific IgE and spontaneous histamine release values decreased in only the OIT group.. ...

In a skin test, a small amount of the suspected allergen is placed on the skin or just below the skin to see if a reaction occurs. The test can be done by placing a small amount of allergen laden fluid on the skin, then pricking or scratching the allergen into the skin. Many types of allergen extracts are available from foods to pollens, even including one for dust mites. The testing is usually done on the fore arm or upper back.. A small amount of allergen solution can be injected just under the skin. This may be done if a skin prick is negative on an allergen that was highly suspected of being a problem. The injection test is more sensitive than the skin prick test and may catch something that a person didnt react to with the skin prick test. Either way of testing (skin prick or injection), you are watching for redness and a wheal to form. The area may become itchy and warm.. When only looking for contact dermatitis, an allergen solution can be placed on a patch which is taped to the skin for ...
Skin tests traditionally used to predict allergies to amoxicillin, one of the most commonly prescribed antibiotics in children, are ineffective according to a new study led by a team at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) in Montreal. The findings, published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics this week, determined that oral provocation or challenge test, with appropriate follow up, was a more efficient and safer screening method for diagnosing non-life threatening reactions to amoxicillin in children.. Our study suggests that skin tests are essentially useless as diagnostic tests, and that we should go directly to the graded provocation test that is highly sensitive and specific, says studys lead author Dr. Moshe Ben-Shoshan, who is an allergist at the Montreal Childrens Hospital at the MUHC (MCH-MUHC) and an assistant professor of Pediatrics at McGill University. This is a game changer in the way physicians assess amoxicillin allergy in children given the ...

TY - JOUR. T1 - Antigen dose in the human immune response. Dose-response relationships in the human immune response to Keyhole limpet hemocyanin. AU - Curtis, John E.. AU - Hersh, Evan M.. AU - Butler, William T.. AU - Rossen, Roger D.. PY - 1971/7. Y1 - 1971/7. N2 - The primary immune response to Keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) was studied in 39 normal adults; 8 were immunized with 5,000 μg, 6 with 100 μg, 6 with 10 μg, 10 with 1 μg, and 9 with 0.1 μg. Immunity to KLH was assessed by delayed hypersensitivity skin testing, hemagglutinin determinations, and KLH-stimulated in vitro lymphocyte blastogenesis. Thirty-three of the 36 persons skin-tested had positive delayed hypersensitivity reactions. The magnitude of the skin test reactions was not related to antigen dose. Immunization with 10 μg or more of KLH induced formation of lymphocytes capable of undergoing increased KLH-stimulated blastogenesis. The lymphocytes of the 19 persons immunized with less than 10 μg did not develop increased ...
The intradermal allergy test The intradermal test is the golden standard for horses with allergies. It can detect and quantify sensitivities of your horse for certain allergens (pollen of herbs, trees, plants, flowers, insect extracts, mites, molds or animals). In this test, 50 allergen extracts are injected into the skin of your horse. The reactions are then read and interpreted several times until 24h after injection. Finally, the test must be interpreted according to the environment and management of your horse but also the type of problems and seasonality. ...

Skin prick test. A skin prick test is usually the first test to be done when trying to identify allergens for a particular patient. Its quick, painless and is safe overall, and the results can be read after about twenty minutes. A tiny drop of allergen extract that has prepared in an allergen laboratory is placed on the skin and very lightly punctured by a shallow (half millimeter) lancet. If IgE antibodies are present, an itchy wheal with a diameter between 5 and 15 mm will form, rather like a mosquito bite. These wheals will then disappear in 30 to 60 minutes. There is a very small chance that a patient may develop a stronger reaction but they are carefully monitored and treatment will be given should this be the case. Specific IgE Blood Test. The blood test that identifies if the blood serum contains specific IgE antibodies is called a specific IgE blood test (formally known as RAST). There are two kinds of test. The first (traditional test) uses an extract of the whole substance (e.g. ...

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by germs that are spread from person to person through the air. TB usually affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body, such as the brain, the kidneys, or the spine. A person with TB can die if they do not get treatment.. The treatment of person(s) with active TB disease is managed by a doctor who is an expert in this area. Patients with active TB disease are not allowed to return to school, work, or in the public until they are considered non-contagious. For persons who may have been in contact with someone with active TB disease, the Richmond County TB Control Office strongly recommends that you receive a TB skin test. If your test is negative on the first round of testing, second skin tests are needed because it can take up to 3 months to develop a positive skin test. Testing is provided at all of our 13 health departments or you may choose to go to your private doctor. We have posted questionnaires/permission slips that you may fill ...
Even though some allergy remedies are available without a prescription, it is recommended that you talk with your doctor first to make sure you select the most appropriate medication. Your doctor may suggest taking an over-the-counter (OTC) medication such as an antihistamine to reduce sneezing, a decongestant to relieve congestion and swelling of nasal passages, or eye drops to relieve itchy, watery eyes. If the OTC remedies do not relieve your allergy symptoms, your doctor may recommend a visit to an allergist for a prescription medication or allergy shots.. In order to treat your allergy symptoms, an allergist can determine the pollens to which you are allergic through allergy testing. An allergy skin test involves the injections of a small sample of diluted allergen just under the skin of your arm or back. If you are allergic to the substance, a small red bump or hive will appear. Allergy shots actually expose your body to the allergen until you become tolerant of it, and they can help to ...
Everything you need to know about IgE mediated allergies and testing. True allergies (environmental or food) result in an immunological reaction in the body resulting in common symptoms such as hives, skin rashes, swollen lips, eczema, stuffy nose, constant coughing and in rare cases anaphylaxis. A specialist in allergy and immunology is needed to properly diagnose an allergy and there are several methods of testing. Combining a patients history along with a measured reaction, a qualified doctor can diagnose an allergy. Allergies can also develop at any time, but are commonly discovered and diagnosed in children.. Skin Prick Test. This primary testing method involves individual needles containing a small amount of the suspected allergen that are then pressed into the skin. A reaction is determined by measuring the size of wheal (a red, possibly itchy bump) that rises from the prick site. A very experienced doctor or nurse is needed to perform this test, as false positives can occur at rates ...
I use Relief cream on every client who comes in with any type of pain, and they all say they absolutely love the fragrance (as do I) and how it feels on their skin-in addition to how well it relieves their pain. It is the ONLY topical pain cream I would even think of using (and having on my hands) all day long, and with its non-irritating ingredients I can do so worry free. I have never had anyone I have used it on or sold it to complain of any type of negative skin reaction to the product, which I find amazing since with most ever other product of its kind you run a significant risk of experiencing secondary skin irritation. As you can imagine I couldnt be happier with Reliefs amazing formulation and superior results ...

Semakin hari semakin banyak pemeriksaan laboratorium COVID-19.
An allergist-immunologist is a physician specially trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of immune system problems such as allergies, asthma, and immunodeficiency diseases. One of the main goals of allergy care is to identify when possible the allergen or exposures that trigger symptoms in allergic disorders.. Allergic reactions occur to environmental substances known as allergens. Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma, food allergies, and reactions to stinging insects. Immunology covers all aspects of the immune system in both health and disease including autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivities, and immune deficiency.. The Allergy and Immunology Department performs allergy skin testing and allergy antigen shots.. ...

Background: Allergic sensitization is the major risk factor for asthma and rhinitis in all ages, however data about the natural history of allergic sensitization is limited.. Objective: To evaluate incidence and persistence of allergic sensitization from age 7 to 19 years (y).. Methods: The first OLIN pediatric cohort was recruited in 1996 including 2,454 children at age 8 y. The cohort has been followed up annually until 2007. Skin prick tests (SPT) with ten common airborne allergens were performed at age 8, 12 and 19 y, and 2148 (88%), 2060 (84%), and 1868 (76%), respectively, participated. 1515 participated at all three tests (tests (71% of participants at age 8 y).. Results: The prevalence of any positive SPT increased significantly by age; 20.6% at age 8 y, 31.1% at age 12 y, and 42.1% at age 19 y. The prevalence was higher among boys at all ages. The sensitization pattern was similar at all ages, sensitization to furred animals and pollen was most common; timothy 27.5% and cat 26.9% at age ...
A skin test is a more simple process that is done either on or just under the surface of your skin to see if youre allergic to something.. A professional will place a drop of the allergen thought to be affecting you on your skin. A nurse or doctor then has the option to leave the allergen on your skin or poke the area with a small needle to push some of the allergen under the surface of your skin. If you have an allergy to the substance, you will start to develop redness or an itchiness within 15 minutes of the allergen coming in contact with your skin, according to the ACAAI. Its also possible you will develop a wheal, which is a raised, red, itchy bump that surrounds the affected area.. If the skin tests indicate that you may have an allergy, doctors then compare the results to your overall lifestyle and living conditions just to make sure that the effects arent due to another reason. Many of these allergies can be controlled and subdued with simple treatment and medication.. ...
The three main types of allergy tests are skin tests, blood tests, and elimination diets.. A skin test involves inserting a specific allergen just beneath the uppermost layer of the skin to observe any reactions such as redness, swelling, or itchiness. This test is not painful and can indicate allergies to dozens of different substances.. A blood test is usually performed if there is significant likelihood of a severe allergic reaction to a skin test. Blood is drawn and tested to find the number of allergen-fighting antibodies that are present.. If you have been having allergy symptoms and dont know the source, your doctor may recommend an elimination diet, consciously removing specific foods from your diet and then later reintroducing them to judge the source of your allergic reactions. ...

In his now world-famous Testimony before the US FDA Scientific Advisory Committee on 18th February 1993, Dr Paul Cheney said: I have evaluated over 2,500 cases….We have seen the worst and the best of the range of scenarios that can befall a patient with this disorder. At best, it is a prolonged postviral syndrome with slow recovery or improvement within one to five years. At worst it is a nightmare of increasing disability with both physical and neurocognitive components. The worst cases have both an MS-like and an AIDS-like clinical appearance….We have lost five patients in the last six months….The most difficult thing to treat is the severe pain….The most alarming is the neurological and neurocognitive elements of this disease. Half have abnormal MRI scans, 80% have abnormal SPECT scans, 95% have abnormal cognitive evoked EEG brain maps. Most have abnormal neurologic examinations….40% have impaired cutaneous skin test responses to multiple antigens. Most have evidence of T-cell ...
How can you be tested for TB? You can receive either a skin test or a blood test. The skin test is done by insertion of the chemical tuberculin under the skin. Time is given for the body to react to the chemical, and then the injection spot is observed and measured to determine whether it is positive or negative. A negative result indicates it is highly unlikely the individual has been infected, and a positive test indicates a possible infection of either latent or active TB. One downside to the skin test is that people who have previously received a tuberculosis vaccine may test positive, even if they are not infected with the bacteria. I have met someone who was born in Namibia who received a false-positive skin test after being vaccinated in his youth. The other test that is available is the blood test, which takes a blood sample and then tests its reaction to the TB bacteria itself. This test is preferred for those who have previously received a vaccination, as false positives dont occur. ...

The negative effects on adult height were greater for children who were younger when they enrolled in the trial, but these differences were not significant. The investigators found that the difference in growth velocity occurred primarily in prepubertal children who were 5-10 years of age at enrollment. The evaluation of cumulative dose also demonstrated a dose-response effect. Patients who received higher daily doses of inhaled steroids during the treatment had a correspondingly greater reduction in their average adult height. Other factors associated with a lower adult height were Hispanic ethnicity and female sex as well as skin test reactivity and vitamin D insufficiency. Of interest, cumulative prednisone exposure during the treatment phase was not associated with differences in adult height. The height difference ultimately displayed by the children resulted from differences in their growth velocity in the first 2 years after trial enrollment. Kelly and colleagues concluded that this ...
A survey of foundry workers was undertaken to assess the effect of respiratory disease on both absence in the year prior to the survey and labour turnover since a cross-sectional study of respiratory morbidity five years previously. The presence of a wheeze, but not an objective disturbance of airway function, was predictive of absence. Those with respiratory illness, detected in the survey five years previously, were no more likely to have left the foundry than those without such illness. Limited job opportunities may discourage moulders with respiratory disease from leaving the foundry. Absence was not related to cigarette smoking, the presence of bronchial hyperreactivity, or a positive skin test to common allergens. In view of the small number of subjects in this study, studies of larger work populations should be undertaken to further assess the effect of subjective and objective indices of respiratory morbidity on absence and labour turnover ...
