p,In considering the characteristics of the action of anxiolytic drugs and their mechanism in the brain, it may be necessary not only to study the behavioral pharmacology but also to perform brain site research. In the present study, the action of anxiolytic drugs was examined with respect to various behaviors that were induced by stimulating the brain areas related to emotions such as reward (pleasure) or aversion in rats. First, the low rate of response in lateral hypothalamic self-stimulation behavior was induced by schedules of low current brain stimulation, variable interval (VI) and differential reinforcement of low rate (DRL). Anxiolytic drugs such as benzodiazepines facilitated these low-rate responses. The drug susceptibility was highest in the low current stimulation, lower in the VI stimulation, and lowest in the DRL stimulation schedules. The role of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in brain stimulation reward produced by electrical stimulation of the ventral tegmental area (VTA) was investigated in the rat. In the first experiment, extensive 6- hydroxydopamine lesions of the ascending fibers of the mesotelencephalic DA projections resulted in significant changes in intracranial self-stimulation (ICS) rate-current intensity functions when the lesion was ipsilateral to the stimulating electrode. This paper presents a novel generalization of the IRL problem that allows each trajectory to be generated by multiple locally consistent reward functions, hence catering to more realistic and complex experts behaviors. Solving our generalized IRL problem thus involves not only learning these reward functions but also the stochastic transitions between them at any state (including unvisited states). By representing our IRL problem with a probabilistic graphical model, an expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm can be devised to iteratively learn the different reward functions and the stochastic transitions between them in order to jointly improve the likelihood of the experts demonstrated trajectories. Marijuana is currently the most commonly abused illicit drug. According to recent studies, cannabinoid use occurring prior to pregnancy can impact brain plasticity and behavior in future generations. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether adolescent exposure of female rats to Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) induces transgenerational effects on the reward-facilitating effects of Δ9-THC and d-amphetamine in their adult male offspring.
