Two tubular members are provided, each of which are formed in a loop oriented transverse to the fluid flow and each having a plurality of spaced-apart orifices along their length. In one of the tubular members, the orifices face upstream toward the impinging fluid flow; in the other, the orifices face downstream. The difference between the pressures developed within the two tubular members as a result of the orientation of these orifices relative to fluid flow is indicative of the average rate of fluid flow in the duct.

This is another 3D picture of the babys face. Its a little more difficult to see in the beginning, so I will try and explain. Babys hand is on the left side of her face, next to the placenta. It is covering her left eye. Directly next to her left eye is her open right eye. If you look very carefully, you can even see her iris. There is a large nose right where the nose is supposed to be. I think her nose looks very large, but the ultrasound is taken at an angle below the nostrils which makes it look larger than it actually is. The large black semi-circular shape inside the orange is the babys open mouth. This particular image makes her look very surprised. I find it funny ...
