Bending zones are clearly recognisable in both the dorsal and ventral bars of the upper bill in Calidris species, which are neognathous rhynchokinetic birds. The position of these bending zones coincides with the bending point determined from behavioural analyses (Gerritsen, 1988). The bending zones in the palaeognathous species are not clear, although the bars are relatively more slender than in Calidris. All the palaeognathous species analysed in this study have the thinnest zones in the dorsal bar near the caudal or rostral part of the dorsal bar, outside the effective bending limits of the upper bill. This indicates that no clear bending zone is present in the dorsal bar of the Palaeognathae. Based on the valence electron concentration (VEC) principle, four kinds of RHEAs (ZrTiHfV0.5Nb0.5, Zr2.0TiHfVNb2.0, ZrTiHfNb0.5Mo0.5, and ZrTiHfNb0.5Ta0.5) are designed (VEC < 4.5). The experimental results show that the plasticity of these alloys was greatly improved: the static compressive strain was higher than 50% at room temperature (RT), and some elongations were produced in the tensile process. Moreover, the microstructure and phase composition are discussed in detail. The addition of Nb, Mo, and Ta contributed to the high-temperature strength. Finally, the dynamic mechanical properties of these RHEAs with coordination between strength and plasticity are investigated.

John Boydell (/ˈbɔɪdəl/; 19 January 1720 (New Style) - 12 December 1804) was an 18th-century British publisher noted for his reproductions of engravings. He helped alter the trade imbalance between Britain and France in engravings and initiated a British tradition in the art form. A former engraver himself, Boydell promoted the interests of artists as well as patrons and as a result his business prospered. The son of a land surveyor, Boydell apprenticed himself to William Henry Toms, an artist he admired, and learned engraving. He established his own business in 1746 and published his first book of engravings around the same time. Boydell did not think much of his own artistic efforts and eventually started buying the works of others, becoming a print dealer as well as an artist. He became a successful importer of French prints during the 1750s but was frustrated by their refusal to trade prints in kind. Hey guys! I just came back from a school excursion, and interacting with the chickens there made me want to post, not about the chicken and the rooster I made, but of this cassowary! Its still a bird, so I guess it works! So, this is an anthropomorphic cassowary, as you can tell by the arms instead of wings. Anthropomorphic meaning showing human traits, features, or characteristics. I started to draw these birds, and I just couldnt stop! Ill post about the other ones soon. Cassowaries are not endangered or threatened, but they are vulnerable. Their population is declining a little bit, most likely from the loss of habitat.
