The objective was to compare the bone height and bone density measurements of implant recipient sites by panoramic radiography and computed tomography. Thirty-seven sites of 21 patients were evaluated using both panoramic radiography and computed tomography. The bone height was measured as the vertical distance from the alveolar crest to the closest anatomical landmark. Density was compared by means of densitometric measurements. Data was evaluated using paired t-test and Pearsons correlation coefficient analysis. Although bone heights measured with the two imaging modalities differed significantly (p , 0.05), there was a significant correlation between bone density measurements (r = 0.93, p = 0.0). Specifically, we need to know the angles between the view directions of the photos (the alignment of the images), and a radial projection function that relates the distance of a point from image center to the true angle of view, measured from the optical axis of the lens. Today was a busy busy day for Ella. I took her into the dentist this morning because one of her adult teeth is coming in (she has lost 2 baby teeth) sideways and extremely close to another baby tooth, so close that I couldnt see the line seperating the two, and she has been kind of hitting herself with her knuckles right on that tooth so I was afraid she was in pain. Basically the dentist said that it probably is really uncomfortable right now because her ligaments are stretched really tight, didnt know you had ligaments there, and she doesnt want to do anything about it. We could pull the baby tooth but she doesnt want to traumatize her for something that doesnt have to be done. She did get a panoramic x-ray of Ellas mouth, which I was super impressed that Ella stood still for. She said the orthodontist wont do anything until Ellas 6 year molars come in and from the looks of the xray that will be another 1 1/2 to 2 years.
