Within emergency medical services a medical director is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. In North America, medical directors are typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. The medical director may also assist the EMS agency in extending its scope of practice (where applicable by law). While this definition is a fair description of the role in North America, significant variations can occur in other countries and in other health care systems. Note: In the interest of clarity, medical directors exist in a variety ...

RPI has developed powerful relationships with current and former payer medical directors who can assess your medical device technology and provide relevant feedback on what is required to establish positive coverage policies.. Our insight even extends to identifying when you should approach Payer Medical Directors for education. Approaching payers too early in the product life cycle can have detrimental effects like forcing a non-coverage policy. We have years of experience in the payer educational field and will advance your business with this industry knowledge.. By conducting focus groups that consist of former medical directors who give valuable insight, we are able to reveal potential problems early. Physician focus groups are a safe and efficient way for medical device manufacturers to get inside the payers head about a new technology or a procedure before arbitrarily misdirecting the investment of time and resources.. ...

To create the compelling pro forma, there are a couple of caveats. First, be concise. If the pro forma is longer than 1 or 2 pages, it is not going to be read in detail. Second, dont make it excessively technical. The hospital chief financial officer and executive director are usually not physicians and even though they will be knowledgable about medical issues, you need to be sure that you are writing the pro forma using words that they will understand. Third, be realistic in your projections. The people who run the business of a hospital are used to over-exaggerated claims of future programs and if they find you are overestimating income in one section, they wont believe anything in the entire proposal. Fourth, dont make your reader have to work to figure out what you are trying to say. Be sure that your sections and tables are clearly labeled so that even with just a brief glance, someone can find the information that they want and understand exactly what you are saying.. To create the ...

The post is held by a physician who serves to advise and lead a team of medical experts on matters of public health importance.[1] The post of chief medical officer dates back to Victorian times.[2] The equivalent title may go under different names across countries, for example, the Surgeon General in the United States and the Chief Public Health Officer in Canada. By extension, chief medical officer is also used as a job title, for the physician who is the professional lead of all physicians at a hospital.[3] ...
January 29, 2013. The Royal Institute of International Affairs in the UK. The Zionist organization of America in the US. In this series of Eyeopener reports, we have been looking at some of the less-scrutinized organizations of influence in world affairs, and this week we cast our eyes north of the border to an institution of considerable influence over the Canadian government that, like these other groups, few amongst the general population have ever heard of: the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.. The Council describes itself as a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization populated by the CEOs of Canadas largest corporations. The organization, again in its own words, engage[s] in an active program of public policy research, consultation and advocacy. In other words, it is a corporate lobby group, and as its members control $4.5 trillion in assets it has been one of the most powerful lobbies in Canada since its inception as the Business Council on National Issues in 1976. The ICD codes are actually two separate groups: ICD-10-CM (clinical modification) is a set of diagnosis codes to be used, for the most part, by health plans, hospitals, providers, and PBMs. ICD-10-PCS (procedure coding system) put an additional burden on hospitals (and to some extent payers) because they will be used to describe inpatient procedures. There are approximately 13,000 ICD-9-CM codes; ICD-10-CM will have 68,000. There are approximately 3,000 ICD-9-PCS codes; ICD-10-PCS will have 87,000. All told, ICD-10 means an expansion of the coding system from the 17,000 codes in ICD-9 to 155,000.. Jim Daley, a former HIPAA program director, was one of the driving forces for the first white paper on this subject about eight years ago for WEDI - the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange - a national organization that advises the government on technology standards for health care.. I needed to re-design my CV to help me with my career change. I needed to find and describe the right information to be able to show that I had relevant experience for the roles I was applying for. My biggest insight was that the role description should focus on achievements instead of tasks. I felt more positive and empowered about talking about what I have done in a confident way. I now have a CV that I see as more marketable and I hope it will help me to finally land into the position I desire :-). I have already started noticing the different response that recruiters give to my CV as they can see the information they need for the roles they recruit for. Thank you again and all the very best, Talita C, Researcher, UK ...

Though Purdue Pharma eventually triumphed, generating $35 billion worth of sales for OxyContin (Petras quotes the same figure), there were bumps along the way, such as the conviction of three Jewish executives in a case against Purdue. Wikis reportage mirrors that of Striker:. In May 2007, the company pleaded guilty to misleading the public about OxyContins risk of addiction, and agreed to pay $600 million in one of the largest pharmaceutical settlements in U.S. history. Its president, top lawyer, and former chief medical officer pleaded guilty as individuals to misbranding charges, a criminal violation, and agreed to pay a total of $34.5 million in fines. Those executives are: Michael Friedman, the companys president, who agreed to pay $19 million in fines; Howard R. Udell, its top lawyer, who agreed to pay $8 million; and Dr. Paul D. Goldenheim, its former medical director, who agreed to pay $7.5 million.. Though $600 million is a large number, Striker dismisses it as merely a cost of ...
