Purpose: Self-efficacy, having been identified as a factor influencing teacher effectiveness, combined with the increased prevalence of outdoor education (OE) content being taught within physical education contexts, warrants the need for physical education teacher education (PETE) programs to address OE outcomes. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine if participation in an OE program increased self-efficacy to teach OE among PETE students. Methods: PETE students (N = 95) were taught OE content in multiple residential environments and were evaluated using the "Survey of Self-efficacy for Teaching Outdoor Education." Results: Results indicated a significant increase in self-efficacy scores from pretest to posttest in all content areas (OE skills, group dynamic skills, and models and theories). Abstract: Expectancy-Value Questionnaire (EVQ) measures student expectancy beliefs and task values of the domain content (Eccles & Wigfield, 1995). In this study the authors examine measurement invariance of EVQ in the domain of physical education between elementary and middle-school students. Participants included 811 students (3rd-5th grades) from 13 elementary and 903 (6th-8th grades) from 13 middle schools. Students completed the EVQ in their physical education classes within the same semester. A series of hierarchical steps for testing the measurement invariance were conducted based on means and covariance structures. The results suggest that the questionnaire possesses configural and metric invariance, but noninvariant item intercepts between these two groups of students (,?CFI , > .05). The main purpose of the study was to analyze teaching styles used in Finnish physical education. Another aim was to investigate the relationships between background characteristics of teachers and use of teaching styles. The participants of the study were 294 (185 females and 109 males) Finnish physical education teachers. The teachers responded to an electronic questionnaire accessed through a link delivered to them by e-mail. The instrument included background information items (gender, teaching experience, education, school level, mean class size) and questions pertaining to teacher use and perceived benefits to students of the various teaching styles. Physical Fitness and Plasma Non-Enzymatic Antioxidant Status at Rest and After a Wingate Test Seven male physical education students underwent the Wingate test, a 30 sec sprint anaerobic exercise, and their plasma non-enzymatic antioxidant status (plasma uric acid, ascorbic acid, �-carotene, alpha-tocopherol) were tested in order to demonstrate the effect of exercise on oxidated stress evaluated by lipid radical levels. Venous blood samples were taken prior to the warm-up and prior to the Wingate test after completing the warm-up.
