It may be massively different from the previous three games, but the new re-launch of Prince of Persia has still neatly blown our socks off. Weve just had a look at the first hour or two of the game, so check out our thoughts to see if the new Prince can survive this leap of faith.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s intrepid letter writing activity, one particular missive †in no way as contentious as her intervention on FDI in retail †stands out for reaching out to a small but important community in India, the Parsis.. In a letter to health minister Anbumani Ramadoss in May last year, Ms Gandhi backed the ban of the veterinary use of Diclofenac, a drug that caused massive wipe-out of vulture population. The drug caused fatal kidney failure in the birds feeding on the carcasses of cattle treated with the anti-inflammatory preparation.. The issued a notification for the drug’s ban within three months. Diclofenac was replaced by Meloxicam by August 2006. While the environmental evidence in support of banning Diclofenac was substantial, the vulture population’s near extinction was being keenly felt by the Parsis.. The Zoroastrian Parsi community observes a sky burial ritual, where its dead are committed to be eaten by vultures or birds of prey ...
Patient Kooni, had practically antagonized Q, Joe, Xerxes53, Ahreeman, Xerxes, Lat, yourself and many others in IPC. He cant help it, he crys for attention and recognition! Patient Kooni has little education, intellect, little knowledge of English Language and No Knowledge of Parsi Language. Every single Parsi word that he writes are spelled wrong but he still insists to write in Parsi (Arabic letters). He is so persistent in his ignorance. He is also so very Chamoosh like an out of control Wild Goat, attacking people (Boze Vahshi ke shakh mizane). He cant spell, read or write Parsi (Arabic letters), Parsi (Latin letters), German or English! For example he often refers to you with terms he recognizes but they have no meanings or make no sense in Parsi. He uses terms in wrong places (out of context) so they make no sense. Terms like: Laghe and other ones. Do you agree ...
The king of Persia from 486-465 BCE; the son of Darius I and Atossa.. The fact that Atossa was the daughter of the founder of the Persian Empire, Kyrus (Cyrus), gave Xerxes a clear advantage over Darius other sons but Atossa wielded great influence over Darius and before he left on an expedition to Egypt, Darius officially appointed Xerxes his successor; Darius died before he could return to Persia and Xerxes became king of the Persian Empire circa 486 BCE.. In Greece, he was known as The Warrior; his massive army invaded Greece in 480 BCE for a variety of reasons including: 1) revenge for his fathers humiliating defeat ten years previously in 490 BCE, 2) the prompting of his general and cousin, Mardonius, who wanted to be satrap of Greece, 3) the vengeful encouragement of the banished Athenian tyrant, Hipparkhus (Hipparchus), and 4) the self-serving prophecies of another Athenian expatriate, Onomakritus (Onomacritus); the only man to advise Xerxes not to invade Greece was his uncle, ...
St. Mary church of Tabriz is one of the Armenian Apostolic churches constructed in Tabriz, in the second half of the 18th century. However, because of the style of the portal, attributable to the Ilkhanid period (13th century) and according to Marco Polos accounts, the date of the construction can be assumed to have been about three centuries earlier.
Most at risk, of course, are the people of Iran, people as peaceful as any other, or perhaps more so. As in any country, no matter what its government, the people of Iran are fundamentally good, decent, peaceful, just, and fundamentally like you and me. Ive met people from Iran. You may have met people from Iran. They look like this. Theyre not a different species. Theyre not evil. A surgical strike against a facility in their country would cause a great many of them to die very painful and horrible deaths. Even if you imagine that Iran would not retaliate for such attacks, this is what the attacks would in themselves consist of: mass murder. And what would that accomplish? It would unite the people of Iran and much of the world against the United States. It would justify in the eyes of much of the world an underground Iranian program to develop nuclear weapons, a program that probably does not exist at present, except to the extent that legal nuclear energy programs move a country closer ...

The activity of Muslim geographers, which had been so intense during the ninth and tenth centuries, abated during the present century. For the second half of this century two men will be recorded, one in the West and the other in the East. The western one, al-Bakri, is of special importance, become the road-book which the compiled in the traditional manner is the oldest one of its kind due to a Spaniard. He also compiled a dictionary of ancient (i.e., Arabian) geography. The Eastern one is also a very arresting personality. Nasir-I-Khusraw was an Ismaili missionary who, starting from Egypt, traveled extensively in the Near East and as far east as Persia. He wrote in Persia an account of his travels, which is equally valuable from the geographical and from the historical point of view ...
Ezekiel goes on to say Persia, Ethiopia and Put are among the coalition, Persia is modern-day Iran, (Irans leaders despise Israel and would dearly love to wipe it off the map) and Put, which is thought to be Lybia. In verse 8, Ezekiel mentions the fact, that after many years of being left desolated, the inhabitants of the land (Jews) have been restored to Israel and will be living in peace and security at the time of the attack. Part of this prophecy was established in 1948 when the Jews regained their land after they had lost it 2,000 years earlier, however, they are obviously not living in peace and security at the moment but just this month a surprising peace deal has been reached between Isreal and the United Arab Emirates, who became the third Arab country to make peace after Egypt and Jordan ...
Peter I first sought to increase Russias political influence in the Caucasus and the Caspian Sea at the expense of Safavid Persia when he launched the Russo-Persian War (1722-1723). Notable in Chechen history, this particular Russo-Persian War marked the first military encounter between Imperial Russia and the Vainakh. Russian forces succeeded in taking much of the Caucasian territories from Iran for several years.[35] As the Russians took control of the Caspian corridor and moved into Persian-ruled Dagestan, Peters forces ran into mountain tribes. Peter sent a cavalry force to subdue them, but the Chechens routed them.[35] In 1732, after Russia already ceded back most of the Caucasus to Persia, now led by Nader Shah, following the Treaty of Resht, Russian troops clashed again with Chechens in a village called Chechen-aul along the Argun River.[35] The Russians were defeated again and withdrew, but this battle is responsible for the apocryphal story about how the Nokchi came to be known as ...
The internet has changed things too much.. In Persia there could in the past be a managed decline of fervour. People would increasingly ignore or pay lip service to the imams and eventually you could end up like secular Persia before 1979. Now the problem is that the Council of Imams can watch everyone through the reach of the internet, the Basij and the IRG. The ambitious know that they can rise via those organisations in the same way that people in the CCCP could rise through the secret police and Party. But now with the internet able to monitor everyone everywhere theres no way to avoid political Islam in Iran.. At the same time no leader of a muslim country can overtly abandon or reduce the power of Islam because if they try it some jihadi will assassinate them. Abbas in the West Bank cannot make peace with Israel - if he tried to hed be dead in a week. Same goes for any other despot in MENA. Sadat is another example - even though he had solid control of the Egyptian Army. I cant think of ...

were not confined to the lower orders; they were also in great esteem among persons of superior station, and are particularly valued in Scripture, as the emblem of knowledge and purity, gladness and victory, grace and glory. The priests of Baal were habited in black ; a colour which appears to have been peculiar to themselves, and which few others in those countries, except mourners, would choose to wear. Blue was a sky colour in great esteem among the Jews, and other oriental nations. The robe of the ephod, in the gorgeous dress of the high priest, was made all of blue ; it was a prominent colour in the sumptuous hangings of the tabernacle ; and the whole people of Israel were required to put a fringe of blue upon the border of their garments, and on the fringe a ribband of the same colour. The palace of Ahasuerus, the king of Persia, was furnished with curtains of this colour, on a pavement of red, and blue, and white marble; a proof it was not less esteemed in Persia, than on the Jordan. The current study suggests that suicide death is higher in male asylum seekers than in the general male population of the Netherlands. The incidence was higher than in the reference population for several regions of origin, despite possible underreporting. As in many populations, in asylum seekers suicide was more prevalent in men and hospital-treated suicidal behaviour more prevalent in women [5]. The male to female ratio for the number of suicide deaths in this study (10:1), however, was higher than generally found (between 3:1 and 7.5:1) [5]. Various hypothesises can be formulated for this gender difference. The higher risk for males could be related to the lower use of mental health services. Additional explanations are that males are at greater risk if they are forced to return to their country of origin, the supposed higher pressure to succeed, more negative consequences of not being allowed to work and a higher prevalence of drug use [25, 26]. Protective factors for women could be having ...
In this study of patients with type 2 diabetes treated pharmacologically for the first time, we found high rates of community-based antibiotic treatment and hospitalisations for infection during follow-up. We also found that patients who initiated pharmacotherapy with insulin, and to less extent those who initiated sulfonylurea, were at increased risk of hospital-treated infection compared with those who initiated pharmacotherapy with metformin. In contrast, there was little difference in rates of community-based antibiotic use between initiators of different GLDs.. Our results corroborate findings from the Swedish study that reported an increased risk of hospitalisation for infection among patients who initiated their pharmacotherapy with insulin alone (HR 1.37, 95% CI 1.26 to 1.50) or with other oral GLDs (other than metformin) (HR 1.16, 95% CI 1.04 to 1.28), compared with metformin.9 Furthermore, our results are in line with the observed reduced odds of septicaemia in metformin users versus ...

The Canon of Medicine is one of almost 450 treatises written by the Persian polymath Ibn Sīnā (better known in Europe as Avicenna, c980-1037). The modern world has called him an astronomer, chemist, logician, mathematician, physicist, poet, and teacher; but to the Muslim world he was prince of physicians and pinnacle of the 10th century Persian renaissance.. Ibn Sīnā was born to a scholarly Persian family in Bukhara (a city on the Silk Road and capital of the Samanid empire). He had memorised the Quran by age 10 and mastered astronomy, law, mathematics, and philosophy before beginning to study medicine at 16. He … ...

The movie blockbuster 300 about the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C that opposed an army of 300 spartans to the massive army of King Xerxes of Persia has already triggered a great deal of reactions from the Iranian Diaspora and the circulation of a petition condemning the film by some members of the Persian Community including academicians who regard the film as a distortion of history. Paradoxically even International politics has to some degree taken the movie more seriously than what it may have intended to be initially with a sheer condemnation by the Islamic Republic of Iran through the spokesman of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Iranian President is already known for his own radical rhetoric s against the West and his call to wipe out the Stare of Israel from the Surface of the Map. Given the fact that the 25 century old Persian Monarchy was ousted by a popular revolution back in 1979, the reaction of the Islamic government in defense of the image of King Xerxes and the Ancient ...

Known as Persia until 1935, Iran became an Islamic republic in 1979 after the ruling monarchy was overthrown and Shah Mohammad Reza PAHLAVI was forced into exile. Conservative clerical forces led by Ayatollah Ruhollah KHOMEINI established a theocratic system of government with ultimate political authority vested in a learned religious scholar referred to commonly as the Supreme Leader who, according to the constitution, is accountable only to the Assembly of Experts (AOE) - a popularly elected 88-member body of clerics. US-Iranian relations became strained when a group of Iranian students seized the US Embassy in Tehran in November 1979 and held embassy personnel hostages until mid-January 1981. The US cut off diplomatic relations with Iran in April 1980. During the period 1980-88, Iran fought a bloody, indecisive war with Iraq that eventually expanded into the Persian Gulf and led to clashes between US Navy and Iranian military forces. Iran has been designated a state sponsor of terrorism for ...
The Wise Men are a big part of the Christmas story. Oddly, they come in and disappear. The Bible seems to indicate that they were not Jews, and they came from the east. I came across a DVD called Mystery of the Three Kings by Questar Entertainment. I thought it brings up some really interesting points, and after learning a bit more about these Wise Men, I thought it brought up some interesting facts: these Wise Men probably came from Iran, and probably were members of a religious sect called Zoroastrianism, which is still in existence today. The Book of Matthew refers not to kings, but wise men. This term Magi comes from Greek: μάγοι, magoi, which is the Mages. Biblical writers preferred the term wise men over the term sorcerors, which has a more negative connotation. Note Magi is the source to the word magician. The ancient historian Herodotus referred to Magi, as a mysterious religious community in Northern Iran (known as Persia). Ancient artwork shows the wise men as ancient Persian
The ancient Iranian city of Ahvaz is located in the province of Khuzestan at 31o 19 north latitude and 48o 46 east longitude and an altitude of 82 feet, Ahvaz lies on the Karun river below its confluence with the Dezful river or Ab-e Dez in the Khuzestan plain, but at a point where the river breaks through the low ridge of sandstone hills, the Jabal Hamrin, so that gypsum rocks in the river bed cause a series of rapids, enumerated at five by Curzon, of which only three presented a serious impediment to navigation; the port of Khorramšahr on the Persian Gulf lies 113 miles below the modern town of Ahvaz. The Karun has long been the only river of any length in Persia which is navigable, but these rapids have necessitated, for the most part, transshipment of goods from Khorramšahr at Ahvaz to boats on the higher reaches of the river traveling to Šuštar.

Testimony written by the servant of Esther in the days of Achashverosh, the king who reigned from India to Ethiopia, over 127 provinces). You have probably never noticed me in Esthers book. I am one of the seven maidens given to Esther on her arrival in the harem of the kings palace. The chroniclers have given us no names, no history, no identity; we are there to take care of the women while they wait to be summoned by the king.. I scarcely remember my own story; I watched my mother and younger siblings die at the hands of Persian forces, sent to suppress the uprising of our city. I fled into the forest and survived eating berries and leaves from trees and shrubs.. After three days, I was captured by a soldier who brought me to Persia and sold me to Hegai, keeper of the women, and that is how I am here in the kings palace. We are slaves. We sleep on old mats outside the chambers of the women who have been brought into the harem.. This woman Esther is somehow different from the others: ...

Its wanton destruction by that conqueror is well known. Its site is now called the Chehl-Minar, or Forty Pillars. Here, on a platform hewn out of the solid rock the sides of which face the four cardinal points, are the remains of two great palaces, built respectively by Darius Hytaspes and his son Xerxes, besides a number of other edifices, chiefly temples. They are of great extent and magnificence, covering an area of many acres. ...
In Luxor, Egypt, live sisters that are the last members of the Mazin, family of legendary professional dancers and musicians known as The Banat Mazin. Known internationally as The Ghawazi, the word loosely translates to invader or foreigner in Arabic, with the plural form being Ghawazi, and the singular being Ghaziya. The Mazin family is thought to originally be of the Nawar (sometimes referred to as Nawari) tribe, and to have perhaps migrated from Persia centuries ago to settle in Egypt. The Mazin family gained much renown for their distinctive dance skills, and speak a dialect much more similar to Rom than it is to Arabic. The signature style of the dance includes extensive work with finger cymbals, and arm positions that are relaxed, and bent at the elbows, very unlike Raks Sharqi. The Ghawazi costuming is also very different- they wear shorter dirndl style skirts covered in rayon fringe and paillettes, with the skirt being worn at the waist as opposed to the hips, with matching tops; ...

Many myopathies share clinical features in common, and diagnosis often requires genetic testing. We ascertained a family in which five siblings presented with distal muscle weakness of unknown etiology. We performed high-density genomewide linkage analysis and mutation screening of candidate genes to identify the genetic defect in the family. Preserved clinical biopsy material was reviewed to confirm the diagnosis, and reverse transcriptase PCR was used to determine the molecular effect of a splice site mutation. The linkage scan excluded the majority of known myopathy genes, but one linkage peak included the gene GNE, in which mutations cause autosomal recessive hereditary inclusion body myopathy type 2 (HIBM2). Muscle biopsy tissue from a patient showed myopathic features, including small basophilic fibers with vacuoles. Sequence analysis of GNE revealed affected individuals were compound heterozygous for a novel mutation in the 5 splice donor site of intron 10 (c.1816+5G|A) and a previously reported
Hereditary inclusion body myopathy (HIBM) is an autosomal recessive, neuromuscular disorder characterized by progressive muscle weakness with onset in early adulthood. The causative gene, GNE, codes for the bifunctional enzyme uridine diphospho-N-acetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc)-2-epimerase/N-acetylmannosamine (ManNAc) kinase (GNE/MNK), which catalyzes the first 2 steps in the biosynthesis of sialic acid. The subsequent paucity of sialic acid production is presumed to cause decreased sialylation of HIBM muscle glycoproteins, resulting in muscle deterioration. In this Phase 1, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, escalating single-dose study, we propose to provide ManNAc (N-acetyl-D-mannosamine monohydrate) orally as a liquid solution to 3 cohorts of 6 subjects (Cohorts A, B, C) at doses of 3,000 mg, 6,000 mg, and 10,000 mg ManNAc, respectively, or up to the maximum tolerated dose (MTD). The objectives of this study are to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of a ...

PICTURE 2: MAP OF THE GREAT GAME - The term The Great Game has a resonance about it, calling up vague memories of derring-do in the mountains and deserts of Central Asia, of the conflict for mastery between two great empires in the nineteenth century, the Russian and the British. For the historian, it refers to the Anglo-Russian competition from Constantinople on the Bosphorus to India, taking in Egypt, Turkey, other Arab lands, Persia and the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Central Asia and North-West India. [For the romantic, it centred on the territory which stretched from the Caucasus Mountains in the west, across the great deserts and mountains of Central Asia, to Turkestan and Tibet in the east.] The British feared, and many Russians hoped, that the prize was India. It lasted from approximately 1807 to 1914, but particularly from 1829, when Russia defeated the Ottoman Empire and Persia, and 1907, when the two countries signed the Anglo-Russian Agreement, which set out ...

I didnt know it at the time, but 48 hours was all the time that I had left with the most extraordinary woman I had ever known. That woman was my mom.. As I reflect back, the night before she died was no different than any other. But the next day and every day since, has never been the same. Mom had now been diagnosed with cancer for the second time in her life. The first time she would beat it, the second time, she wouldnt.. This time mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, which would eventually metastasize to her liver, and take her life in 2008.. I am the youngest of three children and the only girl. To say that my life was shattered when my mom died would be an understatement. My mom was my best friend and when she died, I wanted to die too. I felt sad, empty and alone all the time. One day my mind was really on this loop about taking my life, I couldnt stop it. But as I was imagining how I would end it all, the thought of a postage stamp popped into my brain.. You see, in 1994 I was ...

Some modern scholars, such as Fielding H. Garrison, are of the opinion that the origin of the science of geology can be traced to Persia after the Muslim conquests had come to an end.[55] Abu al-Rayhan al-Biruni (973-1048 CE) was one of the earliest Persian geologists, whose works included the earliest writings on the geology of India, hypothesizing that the Indian subcontinent was once a sea.[56] Drawing from Greek and Indian scientific literature that were not destroyed by the Muslim conquests, the Persian scholar Ibn Sina (Avicenna, 981-1037) proposed detailed explanations for the formation of mountains, the origin of earthquakes, and other topics central to modern geology, which provided an essential foundation for the later development of the science.[57][58] In China, the polymath Shen Kuo (1031-1095) formulated a hypothesis for the process of land formation: based on his observation of fossil animal shells in a geological stratum in a mountain hundreds of miles from the ocean, he inferred ...
Till Tabbas (To Tabas, 1959) is Finnish-Swedish author Willy Kyrklunds (1921-2009) account of a journey through Iran in the 1950s. While ostensibly the object of Kyrklunds text is modern Iran and early Islamic Persia, on an ideational level To Tabbas explores existential issues that are most readily associated with certain intellectual environments in post-war Europe. In one sense, the Persian Orient is to Kyrklund an archive of texts and images, which he uses in a discussion about what he sees as the terms of human existence. Kyrklund discusses the terms of human existence by emphasising the perceived sameness between the modern Western subject and the Persian Muslim and the masters of Sufi poetry. He uses the concept of man to refer to the common ground that he imagines exists between them. However, as this essay shows, man as an abstract category functions as a placeholder for the post-war European male intel-lectual, desperate in his longing for a higher purpose, and certain that no ...
Syringa x chinensis, commonly called Chinese lilac or Rouen lilac, is a cross between Syringa vulgaris (common lilac native to southern Europe) and Syringa persica (Persian lilac native to Persia now Iran). It is a spreading, multi-trunked, deciduous shrub with arching branches which typically grows 8-12 (less frequently to 15) tall. It was reportedly first discovered in Rouen, France in 1777. The leaves and flowers of Chinese lilac resemble those of Persian lilac, but the erect growth and abundance of flowers most resembles those of common lilac. Airy pyramidal inflorescences (4-6 long) of very fragrant rose purple flowers bloom in mid-May. Flowers are followed by brown dehiscent capsules which persist on the shrub well into winter. Opposite, simple, ovate-lanceolate leaves (to 3 long) are medium to dark green. Foliage typically loses sharpness with the onset of powdery mildew in summer. No fall color ...
Unlike many songs about those involved within the music business, this one truly reveals appreciation for the guy watching over the duo. Though rap music is often inappropriate it has given people the African American youth something constructive to do with their time, that wont cause them to being perceived as losers by the other gangsters.. ...
Abdul-Bahá Abbas, descendant of the prophet and prince of the royal blood of Persia, who is founder of the new religion known as the Baháí movement, arrived at the Iroquois later last night and is spending today and tomorrow in Buffalo, meeting the several score of Baháís who live in this city. He is accompanied by several secretaries and attendants, all dark complexioned, alert looking young fellow-countrymen.. Tonight Abdul-Bahá will meet his local followers either at the Iroquois or at the home of J. Harrison Mills on Elmwood avenue, depending upon what arrangements are made during the day.. The leader of the new religious thought - it can hardly be called a sect, because it admits all believers in God irrespective of denomination and professes not to wean them from church affiliations but to hold them loosely in a general philosophy that requires no pledges and permits retention of membership in established churches, is a patriarchal-appearing old gentleman with flowing white ...
Lemons were known to the Jews of Jerusalem, who, according to Josephus, pelted an errant high priest with them during a festival in the 90s BC,[4] although Jewish tradition maintains this was done with citrons (specifically the Balady citron), not lemons.[5] They entered Europe near southern Italy no later than the first century AD, during the time of Ancient Rome. However, they were not widely cultivated. They were later introduced to Persia and then to Iraq and Egypt around 700 AD. The lemon was first recorded in literature in a 10th-century Arabic treatise on farming, and was also used as an ornamental plant in early Islamic gardens.[1][2] It was distributed widely throughout the Arab world and the Mediterranean region between 1000 and 1150. The first substantial cultivation of lemons in Europe began in Genoa in the middle of the 15th century.[2] The lemon was later introduced to the Americas in 1493 when Christopher Columbus brought lemon seeds to Hispaniola on his voyages. Spanish conquest ...
Nestled in one of Eurasias most energetic crossroads, Georgia has a long and multifaceted history. The remains of Homo georgicus excavated at Dmanisi in southern Georgia belong to the oldest hominids yet discovered outside Africa. They have been reliably dated to 1.8 million years ago. Subsequent Neolithic, Chalcolithic, and Bronze Age sites are distributed throughout the region between the Black and Caspian Seas. But it is not until the early 1st millennium bce that the immediate ancestors of modern Georgians emerge in the historical record. Their attestation sharpens in the Achaemenid and early Hellenistic epochs. The peoples of Caucasia were thrust upon the Eurasian stage principally as a result of their associations with Iran. They were, at the same time, active members in the first Iranian Commonwealth, a massive cross-cultural enterprise stretching from Central Asia to the Balkans. Toward the end of the 4th century bce, the disruption triggered by Alexanders conquest of Achaemenid Persia sparked
Show moreHijab, the Islamic dress code, in Muslim communities is a sensitive and controversial issue. It embodies religious doctrine and patriarchal policies. However, in Iran this concept entails a more exclusive significance due to the strict nature of the Shiite faith, which is prevalent in Iran, along with a volatile political system and harsh practices of patriarchy and male domination that are legitimized by Iranian culture and traditions. The legacy of veiling in Iran is not a product of Islam and Islamic laws. Such a practice had existed in Iran centuries before the appearance of Islam in Mecca. The veil predates Islam, and during the ancient dynasties in Persia the veil and harem were common practices. The veil has often been a source of male domination and patriarchy in Iran. During the twentieth century, the coercive unveiling and re-veiling have played important roles in the repression, exclusion and seclusion of women, which have assisted the state to continue its domination over ...
Jinn come in 3 forms, as the Quran tells us - in form of dogs or snakes, birds or flying, and that which shape shifts (can assume the shape of a man etc) - look at the ancient gods or pictures of them and you will see what I mean… the Egyptian gods were in those forms…head of a dog, bird etc etc etc…. same with the Annunaki gods in Persia, and the gods worshipped by the Mayans, Aztecs, Incas and other ancient civilisations. In all ancient paintings, drawings etc, these Gods were all blue in colour. The Quran tells us that Jinn is created from the smokeless flame of fire - meaning the essence of a flame. So go ahead and light a flame, and youll see that the heart of that flame is BLUE. Jinn also live for thousands of years and travel very fast (which explains why all the ancient civilizations had similar looking gods at least one of whom was blue ...
Since ancient times silver has been highly regarded as a versatile healing tool. In ancient Greece, Rome, Phoenicia, and Macedonia, silver was used extensively to control infections and spoilage. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, taught that silver healed wounds and controlled disease. Around 400 B.C. he listed as a singular treatment for ulcers the flowers of silver alone, in the finest powder. Herodotus describes how the King of Persia carried with him boiled water in silver flagons to prevent sickness. In 69 B.C., silver nitrate was described in the contemporary pharmacopoeia ...

Silver has been known for its medicinal and antimicrobial properties for thousands of years. Hippocrates, Father of Medicine, used silver for tissue repair & wound healing. In 69 B.C. silver nitrate was described in the contemporary pharmacopoeia. The ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome used silver to control bodily infection & prevent food spoilage. The King of Persia used silver containers to carry water to prevent contamination. Throughout the ages, the Metal of the Moon as it was known to some of the ancients has been used effectively for numerous medicinal purposes.. Beyond prescribing any silver-based product for its antimicrobial effect, it is necessary in successful practice to distinguish the vast differences in performance amongst competing brands. Clearly silver is not just silver. Major formulation advancements have been made in the last 150 years since the first electrolytically produced colloidal silvers came into existence. To understand the difference in antimicrobial ...
In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel. In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all… on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, that is, the Tigris, I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with gold of Uphaz (I think this is a reference to the land of Ophir)! His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude. And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great terror fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. Therefore I was left alone when I was this great vision, and no strength remained in me, for my vigor was turned to frailty in me, and I ...
History of Saffron. The worlds most prized spice is also the worlds most expensive. Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world because each flower, or crocus, produces only three stigmas each. The stigmas are laboriously hand harvested, only three weeks of the year. Saffron Threads are the dried stigmas of the saffron crocus flower and it takes more than 1,500 stigmas (from more than 4,600 crocus flowers) to make just 1 ounce of Saffron Threads. Although saffron traces its origins to Persia and is now widely produced in countries like China and Iran, the very best saffron is Spanish. This highly aromatic saffron comes from the fields of Castilla y la Mancha in central Spain. Spanish Saffron is set apart by its bright red color and explosive aroma. But dont worry; a little bit goes a long way.. Saffron is perfect when used in cooking seafood dishes such as bouillabaisse, paella, risotto, and biryanis . Try adding some to your next beef stew, soup or tomato-based sauce for and added depth ...

These Sub-regions, however, do not appear to represent the true faunal divisions of the Palaearctic Sub-region quite adequately. In the first place, there seems to be a fairly continuous and unchanging fauna extending from the west of Europe all across Siberia and embracing the northern island (at any rate) of Japan. This wide area is still, to a great extent, covered with forest, and was, no doubt, mainly so beset until within comparatively recent times.. Again, Wallaces arrangement divides between two Subregions the vast extent of desert country that reaches from the Sahara through Egypt, Arabia, Persia, and Turkestan to Mongolia, which also appears to contain a fairly homogeneous fauna. Wallaces Manchurian Subregion, on the other hand, seems to be well established, and to be the most distinctive of all his Sub-regions, but as it only embraces a part of Manchuria, we prefer to call it the Chinese Sub-region.. We may, therefore, distinguish three Sub-regions in the Palaearctic Region as ...

Ibn Ishaq, one of the earliest biographers of the Prophet, says it was at about this time that Muhammad sent letters to the rulers of the earth - the King of Persia, the Emperor of Byzantium, the Negus of Abyssinia, and the Governor of Egypt among others - inviting them to submit to Islam. Nothing more fully illustrates the confidence of the small community, as its military power, despite the battle of the Trench, was still negligible. But its confidence was not misplaced. Muhammad so effectively built up a series of alliances among the tribes his early years with the Bedouins must have stood him in good stead here- that by 628 he and fifteen hundred followers were able to demand access to the Kabah during negotiations with the Meccans. This was a milestone in the history of the Muslims. Just a short time before, Muhammad had to leave the city of his birth in fear of his life. Now he was being treated by his former enemies as a leader in his own right. A year later, in 629, he reentered and, in ...
The carrot (Daucus carota subsp. sativus) is a root vegetable, usually orange in colour, though purple, black, red, white, and yellow cultivars exist. Carrots are a domesticated form of the wild carrot, Daucus carota, native to Europe and southwestern Asia. The plant probably originated in Persia and originally cultivated for its leaves and seeds. The most commonly eaten part of the plant is the taproot, although the greens are sometimes eaten as well. The domestic carrot has been selectively bred for its greatly enlarged, more palatable, less woody-textured taproot.. The carrot is a biennial plant in the umbellifer family Apiaceae. At first, it grows a rosette of leaves while building up the enlarged taproot. Fast-growing cultivars mature within three months (90 days) of sowing the seed, while slower-maturing cultivars are harvested four months later (120 days). The roots contain high quantities of alpha- and beta-carotene, and are a good source of vitamin K and vitamin B6, but the belief that ...
