My son is 12 wks old and started daycare this week as Im back at work (parttime but will go fulltime) He was eating every 2-3 hrs at home (usually every 2) during the day and a longer 4-6 hr stretch at night. He is in daycare 9am-2pm right now, I nurse him at 815, then he gets bottles at 10, 12, etc. His teacher says there are times he seems hungry after a 3 oz bottle and so he got 3 bottles in that timeframe, and then asked me to send in 4oz bottles, which I did today, so in the 5 hrs he was there he ate 11 oz! This seems like too much. He only catnaps there (asleep15-30 minutes at a time), and the teacher says she tries other ways to calm him - pacifier, rocking, etc but if that doesnt work she gives the bottle. He has always been a high need baby, needing to suck a lot. My concern is whether he is over fed or if hes in a growth spurt so its a temporary increase in demand. I pump about 3-4oz each session, every 2hrs, but worry at this rate Ill never keep up. Thoughts?
