When these muscles are strong, they support effective nasal breathing, which can reduce symptoms of bruxism, snoring, and sleep apnea.. Myofunctional Appliances. Functional appliances are used before fixed appliances, in cases where there are growth related problems of the jaws. They are removable/fixed appliances that work by posturing the lower jaw forward and in doing so reducing the gap between the top and bottom teeth. Treatment time takes about 6-9 months, depending on how well they are worn and fixed appliances are usually used after this to align the teeth. This treatment is best carried out when the patient is young going through the growth phase so that jaw growth can be stimulated to help reduce the prominence of the upper teeth. Myofunctional appliance holds the lower jaw forward and guides eruption of the teeth into a more desirable bite while helping the upper and lower jaws to grow in proportion with each other. Patient compliance in wearing this appliance is essential for successful improvement.. When do you give this appliance?. If a child has got small lower jaw giving him an appearance of bird face, a custom ...

When muscles of the cervical (neck region) are injured or strained, then the dogs gait and ability to perform regular activities such as grooming may be impaired.
OSA symptoms include snoring, unsatisfactory rest, daytime sleepiness - and unspecific symptoms such as low energy or fatigue, tiredness, initial insomnia and morning headaches. OSA is associated with an increased risk of occupational injuries, metabolic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, mortality, and being involved in traffic accidents. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is considered the first treatment option for most people with OSA. However adherence to CPAP is often poor probably due to side effects which include discomfort, nasal congestion, abdominal bloating, mask leaks, claustrophobia and inconvenience of regular usage.. Mouth exercises (myofunctional therapy) could be an option for people with OSA, either alone or combined with CPAP. These exercises may involve several muscles and areas of the mouth, pharynx and upper respiratory tract, working on functions such as speech, breathing, blowing, suction, chewing or swallowing.. ...

For years I rolled my eyes when my grandmother said, "If you keep making that face it will freeze that way" after she caught me crossing my eyes, crinkling my nose, or saw me sticking out my tongue. My sister and I would giggle at the thought of a man with his face frozen in a puckered grimace that he made as a child, or some poor girl trying to speak with a tongue that was permanently protruded as the result of a silly face she once made.. While my grandmothers theory of faces becoming "frozen" was laughable in my childhood years, I have recently come to the conclusion that at least part of this old wives tale may be accurate.. In my career as a myofunctional therapist, I work with children, and my focus is essentially on their faces. It is my job to help them learn to use the muscles of their mouth and face "correctly" in order to improve an array of troubles centering on speech, dental health, orthodontic treatment and facial growth and development.. Most of the children I see have ...
I have a deep bite, there are no myofunctional therapists, orthotropic therapists or even myobrace distributors in my area. I do not want to get brace...
Ive tried recording direct, because I really like the idea of doing it that way, and not bothering my wife or the neighbors in the process... However, I must not have learned enough about recording that way because Im not quite as happy with the liveliness of the sound going direct... I havent given up on it yet, but know theres more needed in my education to get what I hear in my head to the recording... So threads like this and the comments of all are very interesting and beneficial to me... Right now Im experimenting a little with miking 2 amps like Im doing with the Session 500 and then going direct, Dry out of the 2nd output of my Telonics pedal... so 3 tracks at the same time, the Direct track panned center, and the two amps offset left and right but not equally... not sure my ear is good enough to hear the nuances that MUST be there. ...
