Radical Business Model Transformation - CEO Magazine
1. Leading Radical Shifts with Transformational Mindset. Todays exponential change, fueled by the two mega trends - digitization and service orientation (servitization) - makes business model transformation a key strategic priority for many leaders. Companies, which are still relying on outdated business models, face the risk of becoming irrelevant. In contrast to start-ups that can drive business model innovation from the green field without any legacy, established companies or business units already act in a given business model with their existing customer base, proven assets and processes and thus have to find the right transformation path into the future despite structural inertia and market barriers.. Radical business model transformation is the systematic strategic change process of switching from one business model type to another in order to gain or regain the competitive edge. Radical means they have to change the type of business model, at least for major parts of the company. ...

Contributor: Susan Moore. If your business is like most enterprises, it probably only has one or a small number of relatively static business models that are internally created and controlled. With the emergence of new business models that are destroying and re-creating entire industries, however, your business will most likely struggle to maintain market leadership for long if you continue operating this way.. New business models are a foundation of digital business transformation. Its not digital business without business model innovation. The ability to maximize relationships with things and smart machines will be a foundation for algorithmic business in the future. Transformation Underway at the National Archives |
Perspectives on History | AHA
Recently, Archivist of the United States David Ferriero marked his first year in office by giving a State of the Archives address to the employees of the National Archives and Records Administration (see http://archives.gov/about/speeches/2010/12-2-2010.html).. Many of the initiatives he began since taking the helm are starting to bear fruit. In September, a draft report was circulated to all NARA staff seeking their input. In October, the final report, A Charter for Change, was released, outlining a new organizational model for the National Archives.. A Transformation Launch Team, led by Tom Mills (assistant archivist for regional records services), has already begun implementing the reorganization. Since November, the Transformation Launch Team has been working with staff to identify the core ideology and values of the agency, identify and ...

How to Make an Exponential Business Model to 10X Growth
Taking your business model from 10 percent to 10X isnt simply about scaling. Often it requires a completely new way of looking at your business and the market it serves.. Exponential business models require exponential imagination. But it can be difficult to re-imagine your existing business if you only surface ideas from within the organization.. Some of the best ideas come from outsiders who offer fresh perspectives on how things are supposed to work. To build an exponential business model, try studying other successful and profitable business models, use a common language, make strategic choices, and identify antilogs - businesses we dont want to emulate but can learn from.. Further, to 10X your business model, you must create value by leveraging technology in at least one key building block, such as the value proposition, channels, or key resources.. Amazon, Facebook, Airbnb, Snap, and Slack are just a handful of the companies that have successfully done so. Airbnb, for example, built ...
The 11 Building Blocks of a Business Model - The Marketing Mentor
A decade ago, I introduced the Business Model Innovation seminar, featuring the 11 Building Blocks of a Business Model. The Mansmith Business Model Map has two more elements - value chain and reconfiguration - compared to popular business model canvas models.. The value chain, as defined by Harvards Michael Porter, is a set of activities a firm operating in a specific industry performs in order to deliver a valuable product for the market. Without understanding the value chain, firms will be missing how the flow of an idea combined with raw materials add value and are translated into output to benefit the customers, as well as the firm. It is the first step in defining a business operating model, and the step before identifying key processes and key resources in the business model map.. Reconfiguration is about innovation. It is about what to start and stop doing in your industry, in order to be different in a different way. Without reconfiguration or innovation, a firm can still have a ...

Primary health care delivery models in rural and remote Australia - a systematic review | BMC Health Services Research | Full...
One third of all Australians live outside of its major cities. Access to health services and health outcomes are generally poorer in rural and remote areas relative to metropolitan areas. In order to improve access to services, many new programs and models of service delivery have been trialled since the first National Rural Health Strategy in 1994. Inadequate evaluation of these initiatives has resulted in failure to garner knowledge, which would facilitate the establishment of evidence-based service models, sustain and systematise them over time and facilitate transfer of successful programs. This is the first study to systematically review the available published literature describing innovative models of comprehensive primary health care (PHC) in rural and remote Australia since the development of the first National Rural Health Strategy (1993-2006). The study aimed to describe what health service models were reported to work, where they worked and why. A reference group of experts in rural health

CiteSeerX - A Methodology to Generate e-Commerce Systems: A Process Pattern Perspective (P³)
CiteSeerX - Document Details (Isaac Councill, Lee Giles, Pradeep Teregowda): In electronic commerce, systems development is based on two fundamental types of models, business models and process models. A business model is concerned with value exchanges among business partners, while a process model focuses on operational and procedural aspects of business communication. Thus, a business model defines the what in an e-commerce system, while a process model defines the how. Business process design can be facilitated and improved by a method for systematically moving from a business model to a process model. Such a method would provide support for traceability, evaluation of design alternatives, and seamless transition from analysis to realisation. This work proposes a method for the systematic transformation of a business model to a process model, which can be executed on a Process Manager. The theoretical foundations of the approach, called Process Pattern Perspective (P³) are value theory, the language

The demonstration project successfully implemented the clinical and organizational principles of the integrated services model, excluding responsibility for healthcare and all services for the entire frail elderly population and financial responsibility for these services.. The population targeted by the demonstration project, the methods for implementing the demonstration project, the financial and human resources invested, the choice of implementation sites, the assessment approach and the work calendar were developed and selected by the Solidage group and the Régie régionale in ...
Community participation to design rural primary healthcare services | BMC Health Services Research | Full Text
Findings show that using community participation can lead to designing new service models that fit within existing budgets and address local aspirations and healthcare priorities.. Participant communities were similar on dimensions of rurality, health status, aspirations and health priorities. They proposed a consistent set of requirements for remote Scottish primary healthcare. These were: resident practitioner(s), expert emergency triage, monitoring and anticipatory care of vulnerable people, community volunteering for health improvement, and leadership of community (health) volunteering.. Despite community similarities, community participation led to different service designs for three communities and one community did not participate at the final service design stage. These diverse outcomes suggest the influence of local contextual factors. This implies that different communities do want different things so suggesting the same standard model for all, apparently alike, rural communities is ...
Articulating current service development practices: a qualitative analysis of eleven mental health projects | BMC Health...
Evaluation in design processes means to assess a wide range of ideas against the goals and constrains of project in order to decide upon the most appropriate final concept [20]. Four types of evaluation were observed in this study: staff input, piloting, rapid improvement, and public consultation. New service development and service integration projects usually started with capturing staffs concerns on new service models proposed in policy documents. Then, small-scale and short-term piloting was carried out. Service improvement projects had rapid improvement in which new ideas were quickly tested, adjusted and implemented into practice. Service closure projects had staff and public consultation as a formal mechanism for gaining input from affected stakeholders.. The focus of the evaluation methods seen in this study, mainly use some form of controlled implementation. This is in line with a common approach to service development in healthcare organisations, Plan-Do-Study-Act [36]. While this is ...

Mental health service demand during the Summer Olympics: literature review | BJPsych Bulletin
The NHS 2012 Programme does not have a pan-London strategy for mental health planning for the Games. Modelling specific to mental health service demand has not been conducted. Prima facie this may not be imprudent, as data from previous Olympics do not suggest there will be a substantial rise in demand for mental health services. There may even be a decrease. However, the lack of data may be more reflective of monitoring practices, priorities in health surveillance systems or variations in service models resulting in people with mental illness being less likely to access or be referred to services.. Difficulty in estimating visitor numbers to the Games adds further uncertainty. Modelling by the Office for National Statistics suggests there will be an additional 510 000 visitors in London each day during the Games period.3 This projection needs to be cautioned, as predictions for visitor numbers for previous games have been unreliable. Post hoc estimates of visitor numbers show large variations ...

Service innovations: a dedicated drug treatment service for dementia | BJPsych Bulletin
Of the many service models that might deliver antidementia drug treatments, most are likely to be clinic-based. To our knowledge, this is the first description of a service that employs experienced nursing staff solely to ensure the effective drug treatment of dementia and which delivers the intervention in patients homes. The benefits of a home-based service are considerable; the most obvious is the combination of enhanced convenience for patients and reduced non-attendance rates (Anderson & Aquilina, 2002). The tasks delegated to the specialist nurses enabled the sharing of a large workload, which may have otherwise significantly prolonged patient waiting lists. We believe that employing experienced community nurses benefits both patients and other members of the services. The CATS nurses provide continuity in assessment and have an important pastoral and practical role in directing patients and carers towards appropriate services. Using these common and comprehensive response measures makes ...

Safe as Milk » Blog Archive » Free Software consulting: marketing & business model
One of the hardest things to do as a consultant is to figure out how much to charge for your services. And we spent over half of our three hour course talking about this.. The first way to figure out how much to charge can be called cost-plus.. You decide how much money you need, how much time youre likely going to work to earn it, and divide to get a daily or hourly rate. They you add an amount you think that you can get on the market, and at the end of the year, this is your companys profit. Profit is handy, since its what allows you to grow - to hire new people, take on new projects, and maybe move from consulting to a product-based business model.. A well-known rule of thumb (which Stephen Walli recently restated to me) is that a successful consultant will bill roughly 50% of the available time in a year. Some years will be worse, some years will be better. But between looking for new clients, down time between projects, and handling everything that you need to do when youre at the head ...
Shared Services
Shared Services is an innovative approach to strengthen the child care industry by helping providers share costs and deliver services in a more streamlined and efficient way.. A three-year grant will allow First Steps Kent to pilot a Shared Services model to offer more support and back-end services to childcare centers and family homes. The expenses and time associated with running a childcare business force many providers out of the industry. Research shows easing those burdens helps stabilize the pool of providers, giving families more options ...

Carbon farming - your questions answered - Elders Rural Services
The Elders carbon farming service is based on a fee for service model for all fees associated with developing the project for registration, baseline measurements and support during reporting to generate credits. The exact cost will vary with the scale of the project, the methodology and the frequency of measurement and application for credits.. Following the initial meeting to determine eligibility of your enterprise, we will provide a detailed quote tailored to your enterprise.. We differ from other providers in that we do not take a proportion of the credits as payment for delivering our service. Although this means upfront cost prior to generating credits, it does mean all of the credits are yours to do with what you wish. We believe as the carbon market develops and prices increase, this puts you in a favourable position as you are not having to forfeit credits for the life of the project.. ...
