Leadership essentials…discipleship essentials. Whats the relationship?. You can lead and never actually make disciples. But, you can never make disciples and not lead.. Why didnt we learn this stuff you are teaching us in our church when we were kids?. Youth Week 2016-Camp Okoboji. The question was so honest, so raw. A teenager, learning to listen, to build conversations, to be curious…all in an effort to be an everyday missionary every day. His excitement over what he was learning quickly turned to a regret. Why didnt someone teach him this earlier?. With all the focus on leadership in the church we have not been gaining Kingdom ground. We dont have a leadership void in the church today, we have a discipleship void. The issues facing the church in America will not be settled by more advanced leadership training, or better run organizations, but by a dynamic movement of the Spirit as more and more people follow Jesus. How will we get there?. By focusing on discipleship…leadership ...

These are all qualities that would encourage others to look up to the person and aspire to their values and there are probably at least ten times as many more words that I could offer as well.. Whatever set of qualities you use to scope out expectations of leadership they will always beg and answer to the eternal question - are leaders born or made?. To answer that question, I pose an alternate question to consider - can individuals grow and develop leadership qualities? If you believe and accept this is possible, then leaders can definitely be made.. Now I do not underestimate the instinct of many people who have a level of innate leadership. I believe there are many people who are by default significantly far along the path to demonstrated leadership; people who have shown themselves successfully manoeuvering a way through related leadership roles and delivering time and again. However, there are those who need the support, education and opportunity to become leaders, where a leader is an ...

Much has been written about leadership during the last eighty years, but little attention has been paid to leaderships ethical dimension. This book sets out to redress the balance and develop an understanding of what comprises ethical leadership in organizations. The book begins by drawing together relevant aspects of leadership theory and discussing them from an ethical perspective. It then offers a clear discussion of a range of ethics theories from the Anglo-American and European philosophical traditions, examining their implications for the study of leadership. It also considers ethics from the viewpoint of practising business leaders, using empirical data to illuminate some points raised during the earlier theory chapters. In the process, the book identifies a number of themes that relate to ethical leadership. It suggests that the route to ethical leadership lies in capitalizing on the moral upsides of these themes whilst avoiding their corresponding downsides. The book proposes that a

As he enters his third season with the Kansas basketball program, up a few pounds and dozens of memorable moments, KU forward Mitch Lightfoot heads out on an interesting adventure. Having an upperclassman in that role is key for the 2018-19 Jayhawks, who are tasked with having to replace one of the best leaders in program history in Devonte Graham, a fixture on the roster for the past four seasons who showed leadership tendencies even as a true freshman. There are many different kinds of leadership, and the style you choose could very well work to serve a solid increase in your chances of success. Research shows that participative leadership is more productive than authoritative models.. What is participative leadership exactly? Its where a leader works to share their power and encourages input when making decisions that affect the whole team. Management studies show that it can enhance positive outcomes, increases employee job satisfaction, and boost company morale. Its the difference between giving orders and building consensus.. For example, consider two different approaches to an office move. The CEO with an authoritative leadership style will simply pick the new location they think is best and give employees a list of tasks to complete.. On the flip side, a participative leader would work together to form a committee to review possible choices and give employees the opportunity to discuss the final decision.. Learning to be a more ...

Those who led Palestinians into the Oslo process have little credibility left, even as they retain top leadership positions. But their opponents continue to offer no persuasive alternative. Even a quick glance at Palestinian political reality reveals a deeply fractured leadership, society, and physical geography. The official leadership around the PA and PLO is directionless and starving for moral authority, and its rival in Hamas seems tactically confused and strategically adrift.. Fatah and the PA leadership in Ramallah score occasional points among Palestinians for international moves, such as the decision in 2015 to join the International Criminal Court and pursue charges against Israel. Hamas earns some credibility for its violent encounters with Israel. These actions sometimes produce ephemeral boosts for them in the polls-but those have become less frequent, and with no elections in the offing, they produce no tangible ...
