But hes urging growers to continue scouting their fields for diseases that have been commonly found in Kansas in past years.. "I have been surprised by the low levels of gray leaf spot in most fields," said Doug Jardine, who has traveled several areas of Kansas over the past few weeks looking at corn and soybean fields.. "In those areas where I was able to find gray leaf spot, it was on the very lowest leaves, even in some fields that I know have had a problem with a history of this disease.". According to the 2012 Life Sciences Industry Census released Jan. 31 from the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute (KCALSI) the number life science companies in the region grew 17 percent since 2009. The increase in companies was accompanied by an increase of 21 percent in employment in the life sciences sector. KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Two gunmen entered a Kansas City bar early Sunday and shot nine people, killing four of them, according to KCK police. The shooting occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. at Tequila KC near 10th Street and Central Avenue. Aharon Eggleston led off the game with a double for Kansas City and scored on a double play ball from Mario Delgado to give the T-Bones an early 1-0 lead against Cracker-Cats starter Mike Johnson. Edmonton responded with two in their half of the inning on an RBI single from former T-Bone Kyle Nichols and an RBI groundout from Chris Becker..
