What is a disciplinary action or disciplinary action policy? Is there a difference between disciplinary actions at work, opposed to disciplinary action for employees? These questions and more are answered by the Employment Lawyers on JustAnswer.

Violence against children has profound effects on both childrens health and their ability to do well at school. Fear, anxiety and injuries caused by violence may play a large role in both childrens absenteeism and low educational achievement, and there is increasing interest from large bilateral donors in investigating this link in low income countries. The Good School Toolkit has been developed and refined for 6 years in Uganda by Raising Voices. The toolkit takes a systemic approach, involving an entire school in a process of change to reduce violence and improve teaching techniques. The Toolkit draws on the Transtheoretical Model and incorporates standard behaviour change techniques such as setting a goal and making an action plan, which are effective in modifying behaviour. This study aims to determine whether use of the Good School Toolkit reduces childrens experience of violence by school staff. The investigators will also examine the effects of the Toolkit on childrens educational ...
The board is not persuaded that relying on the public or the media to fulfill or supplement the boards public protection role is sound policy.. This is not a one-patient case or a two-patient case; it is a three-patient case, the board said.. The medical board ruling supersedes a recommendation by an administrative law judge for a lesser disciplinary action of five years probation.. Kamravas lawyer, Henry Fenton, argued at a public hearing before the medical board last month that probation was reasonable. Nobody died here. This is a good doctor. I argue he really learned his lesson, Fenton said at the time.. Fenton said the failure to follow up on the abnormal biopsy of the 42-year-old patient was an isolated incident.. He said, Look ... it was the only time in my career I had forgotten. It was just from the publicity of [Sulemans octuplets] ... that he forgot to tell her, Fenton said.. We have an excellent physician who is very concerned, who admits his mistake, Fenton ...

I strongly believe that with an experienced lawyer who can organize a legal team, the unmatched doctors can win class-action lawsuit against the state medical boards in order to practice medicine at least in similar capacity of the PAs on the basis of equal opportunity under the law. The State Medical Boards can only require evidence-based requirements for licensure, the requirements cant be arbitrary and preferential. If such a lawsuit is filed I would predict that the trial would be a battle between the expert witnesses on both sides and given that the PAs have only one year of medical knowledge and one year of clinical rotations while the MDs have 2 years of medical knowledge and 2 years of clinical rotations I believe that the court eventually would order the state medical boards to do what Missouri did voluntarily. The AAMC and AMA opposed what Missouri did despite the fact that it was a step in the right direction hiding behind that they advocate increasing the residency positions when ...
The teams turn their backs on Ronaldo (34, Juventus), who was unhappy with the manager who was replaced during the game and left for unauthorized leave. There are also reports that the team will send Ronaldo out of contract.. Ronaldo left the field without going to the bench when coach Sari Maurizio was substituted in the 12th round of Serie A against AC Milan on the 11th. Disciplinary action is inevitable due to a breach of Serie A doping rules, but the club are in a position to quietly settle it without self-discipline.. Then the colleagues came out. Italian sports media La Gazeta del Sport said that Juventus players have blamed Ronaldos actions for hurting team discipline and companionship. They are hoping for Ronaldos apology. . Fabio Paratic and Vice President Pavel Nebat are known to meet Ronaldo for clarification, even predicting that Juventus will move Ronaldo ahead of the deal. One local football expert said: Ronaldo had a disagreement with Zinedine Zidane even in the days of ...

Molière. In 2008, a news press appeared about the discipline of a very popular and well-liked doctor in Texas, USA who treated many hypothyroid patients.. And for what?. Under the column titled NONTHERAPEUTIC PRESCRIBING, it stated: The action was based on Dr.________ prescribing Adipex, Adderal and Armour Thyroid to patients when such medications were not indicated.. Adipex and Adderal are both central nervous system stimulants, and we cant comment one way or the other.. But the mention of Armour thyroid as "not indicated" was a sure sign that this medical board was using the ridiculous TSH lab test range to decide whether a thyroid medication was needed or not. Weve already seen numerous and similar disciplinary actions brought upon well-liked and wise doctors like Dr. Peatfield and Dr. Skinner of the UK, Dr. Derry of Canada, and Dr. Springer in the US-all who dared to make obvious symptoms of ones hypothyroid state more important than ink spots on a piece of paper. There have been many ...
The Texas Medical Board has asked five abortion physicians to appear before a hearing on October 28 regarding multiple violations discovered during an undercover investigation of abortion clinics across the state. Operation Rescue led the three-month investigation into Texas abortion clinics, and these Medical Board complaints are likely the first of several to come. By using a combination of investigative techniques and direct legal action, Operation Rescue is making a real impact in the Life movement. They have been endorsed by several national Pro-Life organizations, and even pro-abortion group NARAL has admitted they are "relentless.". Operation Rescues Texas efforts unearthed multiple violations at all abortion clinics they investigated, including unsanitary clinic conditions, improper disposal of aborted baby remains, illegal dumping of confidential patient records, and violation of informed consent laws. Operation Rescue filed complaints against fourteen Texas abortionists based on their ...
Profiling: the term may evoke a sense of distrust and discomfort. To medical boards, profiling is the display of practice-relevant infor-mation about physicians and PAs on the boards public Web site. In re-cent years, demand has increased for information as health care consum-ers seek to make informed choices about their providers. In fact, the NCMB Web site receives 100,000 inquiries per month. Since Mas-sachusetts passed the first profil-ing law in 1996, several states have done so, and other medical boards (including North Carolina) have voluntarily provided profile information such as training, specialty, board certification, hospital privileges, public files and public documents, and licensure in other states. This Board is now considering adding other facts to the phy-sician profile. As we do so, we must insist that the information provided be accurate and relevant. The addition of public actions in other states, felony convic-tions, and discipline by Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, and DEA is ...

It is my wish that Californians will take action against this atrocity. I live in Florida and the Florida Patients Bill of Rights states that I have the right to decide if a therapy or treatment is unnecessary or dangerous. After a mild heart attack and a triple bypass, I was on more than a half dozen drugs to address my health issues. A few months later the doctor prescribed Paxil and later methotrexate for psoriatic arthritis. I started reading about alternative/nutritional approaches to my health concerns and tried to share with this doctor what I was learning. He was abusive. He asked me where did I get my medical degree. He acused me of self medicating. I went to another doctor. He was worse. He said he could not be my doctor if I refused to take the drugs. I refuse to call drugs meds. Drugs are not medicine. Drugs are toxins that cause stress on the organs and sometimes death. The second doctor later sent me a certified letter giving me 30 days to find another doctor. I went back to the ...
Dr. Smith also seems to believe that he is not responsible to follow up with my inquiry by making the accusation that I, "have not always been reachable by phone," and reports that he called my home phone and received no answer or answering machine. As is common in the modern era, I use my cell phone for everything. I keep it with me at all times. Dr. Smith has this number and should have used it to contact me if he did not get a response on my home phone. Failing that, the practice has my home address, and could have generated a letter asking me to contact the practice. Additionally, as Dr. Smith has accessed our vaccine safety advocacy web site, he had access to both a phone number and email there with which to contact me. Further, I am a public figure, and a simple Google search would have given him another half dozen ways to contact me, as I have made myself as accessible as I can so that I can respond to parents and media inquiries immediately. Lastly, I called the office to find out if he ...

So far, the CA State Medical Board and USC have declined to comment on disciplinary actions and are studying the matter. ABOP and ABMS have declined to comment about their declination to not make any statement about any investigation they are pursuing or initiating or wheeling out the sanctioning panels. Such panels appear from past ABMS history to be ready made and waiting only for their political pawns who meet certain criteria for enhancing financial returns and gaining media attention to instill fear. The current scenario with Dean Puliafito does not fit their program agenda, as it would undermine faith in physician administrators, due to the fact that many professional medical bureaucrats at the ABMS quality cartel blatantly collude, racketeer and commit public fraud from position to position ...

In case you missed it, heres Sundays column:. The Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners accused Attorney General Lori Swanson of a "backstab" and throwing them "under the bus" after her staff criticized the boards decision to reinstate a Twin Cities chiropractor who was twice convicted of fraud.. The conflict between the two offices stems from the boards decision in 2011 to issue a license to Dr. Randy Miland. That move outraged victims of Milands illegal investment schemes, who said theyre still waiting for thousands in restitution payments ordered by the court.. One of his victims filed a complaint with Swanson, who responded with a letter to the board in January 2013 strongly urging them to reconsider the conditions of Milands license.. But Dr. Larry Spicer, the boards executive director, said the board was following the legal advice from Swansons office when it reinstated Milands license two years ago. Those attorneys, who advise and represent the board on all licensing ...
In case a decision is very time critical, the people asking the followup question can ask it in the ticket right away. All Board members receive email from tickets in our trac. The Board owner of the decision is responsible for seeing that the ticket was opened and responding with a definite decision if they do not want the Board members voting to take precedence. Good questions should contain a plan of action that the implementor wants to take that can be approved or disapproved simply. As an example: "At the last meeting, the Board voted to place a banner on http://fedoraproject.org in protest of internet censorship on Tuesday however the Board did not decide what the banner should say. I would like to implement the blackout banner with the text Internet censorship is wrong. I would like the Board to vote here to approve this as without any text the banner cannot go live on Tuesday." The Board would be able to approve or disapprove this proposal with a simple +1/-1 vote knowing that if it ...
As a result the legislative history did not assist in determining what the legislator intended to say. Accordingly r.26(5) EPC did not give any useful guidance as to how to interpret a.53(b) EPC, and the Enlarged Board had to do so on its own authority.. The Enlarged Board held that the purpose of the exclusion was to avoid the patenting of breeding processes in which technical measures or devices were used only as means to bring about processes for the production of plants that were otherwise based on biological forces. Although breeding processes by their nature involve human intervention the conclusion to be drawn is that a process for the production of plants which is based on the sexual crossing of whole genomes and on the subsequent selection of plants, in which human intervention, including the provision of technical means, serves to enable or assist the performance of the process steps, remains excluded from patentability as being essentially biological within the meaning of Article ...

On behalf of Don my husband of thirty-five years, our daughters, and myself, I request authorities begin an independent, open investigation into the surgery, treatment, care and subsequent death of Donald William Mackay. His death was a direct result of five weeks he spent in RNSH between 11th April 2007 and 17th May 2007 (the day he died). I request that the Cardiothoracic surgeon and team, the Spinal Ward doctors and nurses who ignored my husbands worsening condition receive disciplinary action because of their negligence, which led to Dons first Respiratory Arrest and inability to come off ventilation. ICU and Cardio Thoracic Specialists who withheld full disclosure of his condition from us should receive disciplinary action. Their non-disclosure led to Don being subjected to unnecessary torture, which lasted five long weeks. I request that the filthy practices and deplorable conditions he endured without choice in ICU be exposed. Legally, ethically, why and how are the medical ...

As Executive Director of the North Carolina Medical Board, I frequent-ly receive telephone calls and let-ters from physicians, attorneys, and hospital administrators asking vari-ous questions. In this first article, Id like to share three questions Ive received lately and my answers to those questions.* QUESTION: Do physicians who do not have hospital privileges have a responsibility to direct their patients to a hospital with a designated physician or group of physicians who will care for their patients? ANSWER: Some physicians choose not to have hospital privi-leges. A problem arises, however, when the patient of such a physician requires admission to the hospital. In this case, what is the physicians responsibility? The Boards Position Statement entitled "Availability of Physi-cians to Their Patients" states that "once a physician patient rela-tionship is created, it is the duty of the physician to provide care whenever it is needed or to assure that proper physician backup is available ...

Peg Tyre is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who specializes in writing about education policy. In her 2008 book, The Trouble with Boys, she delved into the growing academic achievement gap between boys and girls to examine why boys are falling so far behind in the classroom. In her new book, The Good School: How Smart Parents Get Their Kids The Education They Deserve, Tyre mines education research data to find out which programs and strategies give kids the highest probabilities of academic success. The result is a concise handbook for parents, one that applies a macro-economic view of education in an effort to create a more rational market around school choice.. We know full well that doctors are basically "hookers" for big pHarma or the surgery racket. What else would be expected when their medical school curriculum is paid for by the "drug dealers"?. Now, through an investigation by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, it has been discovered that most MDs are sex perverts preying on their female patients.. Analyzing more than 100,000 medical board orders that relate to disciplinary actions against doctors since 1999, the MDs are a close second to the Catholic Church pedophiles.. More than 3,100 doctors were sanctioned after being accused of sexual misconduct and 2,400 of the doctors had taken advantage of their patients, yet half of them still have active medical licenses.. Believe it or not, these cases represent only the tip of the iceberg of doctors sexually abusing their patients. Why? Because the state regulators and hospitals handle these perverts in secret, and because some public orders are so vague and misleading that a patient would have no ...
The Board, along with coauthor Governor Jerry Brown, has published a short, concise pamphlet on how to prescribe medical marijuana. It is only six pages long, not counting the diagram at the end. Why are they publishing information about a drug that they clearly state in the pamphlet is "an illegal substance under federal law"? Because California voters approved way back in 1996 Proposition 215, which made it legal for people to acquire marijuana for medicinal purposes. Its taken 21 years for the Medical Board to finally establish instructions for physicians "who choose to recommend cannabis for medical purposes to their patients, as part of their regular practice of medicine, that they will not be subject to investigation or disciplinary action by the Board if they arrive at the decision to make this recommendation in accordance with accepted standards of medical responsibility." In other words, its another way for California to thumb its nose at the feds, like so much else its been doing ...

This article in Sundays Times (may require free registration) caught my attention for a few reasons. The county sheriff of Winkler County - remote West Texas, JRBs neck of the woods - arrested two nurses at the county hospital for making an anonymous complaint to the state medical board obout a doctor there. From news accounts, it certainly seems as though the complaints were justified - sticking a needle into a patients bone, sending a kid with appendicitis home without treatment, sewing a rubber piece of a suture kit onto a patients finger. In addition, according to the complaint, the doctor was pushing some herbal supplement he sold on his patients. The sheriff and the doc, it turns out, were not only good buddies, but sold the same supplement. The nurses were fired once their identities were discovered ...

These laws also explicitly remove patient protections in that most of them state that doctors recommending right-to-try cant be sued for malpractice or disciplined by their state medical boards, seemingly no matter how inappropriate or incompetently executed such a request might be. Nor can drug manufacturers be sued. Basically, these laws tell terminally ill patients: Good luck. Youre on your own. And dont sue if things go bad, no matter what. Given that right-to-try laws also only require that experimental therapeutics have passed phase I trials and still be in clinical trials to be eligible, theres a high probability of adverse events and harm. Indeed, I not uncommonly laugh derisively and contemptuously whenever I hear a Goldwater Institute flack claim with a straight face that right-to-try only allows drugs that have been shown to be safe to be used, because phase I trials generally only have a few dozen patients followed briefly. Lets just put it this way: No one who knows what hes ...
Wilsons (temperature) syndrome, also called Wilsons thyroid syndrome or WTS, is an alternative medicine concept which is not recognized as a medical condition by evidence-based medicine. Its supporters describe Wilsons syndrome as a mix of various common and non-specific symptoms which they attribute to low body temperature and impaired conversion of thyroxine (T4) to triiodothyronine (T3), despite normal thyroid function tests. E. Denis Wilson, a physician who named the syndrome after himself, advocates treating these symptoms with sustained-release triiodothyronine. The American Thyroid Association (ATA) describes Wilsons syndrome as at odds with established knowledge of thyroid function. The ATA described the diagnostic criteria for Wilsons syndrome as imprecise and non-specific, and found a lack of any scientific evidence supporting Wilsons claims. The ATA further raised concern that the proposed treatments were potentially harmful. Florida State Medical Board members described ...

There can be dire consequences when the school boards decisions do not match those of some parents. The school board feels very strongly when some parents do their own thing and buy just what they want their child to use throughout the school year. The child might even get a failing grade because they used the wrong binder for a project. Parents get very intense when this happens and are not shy about letting the school, the teacher, and in some cases, they might even take their disgruntled views to the school board meetings that are held at the courthouse each month. They might prepare a speech where the binders and paper items are thoroughly discussed. The parents might point out that one binder is just as good as another and that only the price difference for each of them is the real problem. The issue of paper size might come up a time or two in these meetings with the school board and some of them might be very good points. Some binders will allow the standard sized paper to fit in nicely, ...

The City Council voted 4-3 Monday night to end the citys appeal of a state mediation board decision and rehire a police officer who had been fired
In the decision under review, the patent proprietor had filed comparative data in support of inventive step. During the written and oral proceedings, these data had not been criticised or questioned either by the opponent or the Board of Appeal. The proprietor was therefore surprised to find that the written reasons for revoking the patent were that the comparative data were incomplete and could not therefore support an inventive step. In the review, the Enlarged Board found a fundamental violation of the right to be heard, and so set aside the decision and ordered a fresh hearing before a different Board. The Enlarged Board decision does not prohibit the Boards of Appeal from relaying on ex officio grounds that were not raised by either party, but it does lay down a rule that such grounds, unless there is no doubt that they are foreseeable by the parties, must be indicated no later than the Summons to Oral Proceedings, so that parties are not taken by surprise and can prepare appropriate ...
