Last summer, a team of undergraduates worked with Chinese students at Tsinghua University in Beijing through MISTI, demonstrating how to set up and access MITs free online computer science courses, experiments and labs. The team also gathered feedback from the participants about how well the initiative worked within Chinas educational system. Its about introducing people to the technology so they can adopt it and use it themselves, said Scot Frank, a computer science student from Salt Lake City. Technology has brought significant opportunities to education, but they are largely being lost. In many cases, spending on educational technology (EdTech) has not resulted in improved student outcomes. This Organizational Improvement Plan (OIP) addresses the problem of practice (PoP) of a lack of a framework and supports for K-12 teachers to effectively utilize EdTech in classrooms in the Canadian province of British Columbia (BC). Using a BC school district as a case study, I propose strategies for how leaders can craft and implement a change plan to enhance an EdTech ecosystem that best supports teachers and learners. Two decades ago, the Internet went from being the preserve of the technologically proficient to a medium of mass communication. The rapid adoption of this new form of communication raised hopes among many political scholars that digital technology might revitalize democratic citizenship. The hope was that by making it easier and less costly to gather information, communicate with fellow citizens, and interact with political elites, digital technology might help to reduce inequities in political participation by mobilizing people who have traditionally been politically disengaged. Exploring the Environment - Global Climate Change (ETE-GCC) Modules developed by the Center for Educational Technologies at Wheeling Jesuit University includes six new global climate change problem-based learning modules funded through a cooperative agreement with NASA. The ETE-GCC modules are comprehensive educational activities designed to increase student knowledge of climate change science and the issues surrounding the complex interactions of Earths physical and biological spheres. The modules are a perfect fit for integrated biology courses, environmental science classes, and related courses, such as ecology and social studies that address the sociopolitical issues of climate change.

Patrick Colonel Suppes (/ˈsʊpɪs/; March 17, 1922 - November 17, 2014) was an American philosopher who made significant contributions to philosophy of science, the theory of measurement, the foundations of quantum mechanics, decision theory, psychology and educational technology. He was the Lucie Stern Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Stanford University and until January 2010 was the Director of the Education Program for Gifted Youth also at Stanford. Suppes was born on March 17, 1922, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up as an only child, later with a half brother George who was born in 1943 after Patrick had entered the army. His grandfather, C.E. Suppes, had moved to Oklahoma from Ohio. Suppes father and grandfather were independent oil men. His mother died when he was a young boy. He was raised by his stepmother, who married his father before he was six years old. His parents did not have much formal education. Gina Beebe Nichol has been a naturalist and birder for more than thirty years, Gina first became fascinated with the natural world in rural upstate New York where she spent most of her childhood out of doors. Gina received her B.S. in Environmental Education from Cornell University and her M.A. in Educational Technology from Fairfield University. She began her career as a Naturalist at the Rye Nature Center in Rye, New York. Ginas interest in human/wildlife interactions then took her to Volunteers for Wildlife in Cold Spring Harbor, New York. There she coordinated the operation of a 24-hour Wildlife Crisis Hotline and developed programs dealing with wildlife rehabilitation.. In 1987, Gina became Program Director for the National Audubon Society in Greenwich, Connecticut. In that capacity, she led numerous environmental workshops and local field trips.
