the SWISS-PROT Protein Sequence Data Bank INTRODUCTION ============ TREMBL is a protein sequence database supplementing the SWISS-PROT Protein Sequence Data Bank. TREMBL contains the translations of all coding sequences (CDS) present in the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database not yet integrated in SWISS-PROT. TREMBL can be considered as a preliminary section of SWISS-PROT. For all TREMBL entries which should finally be upgraded to the standard SWISS-PROT quality, SWISS-PROT accession numbers have been assigned. RELEASE 2.0 OF TREMBL ===================== This TREMBL release is created from the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database release 49 and contains 116379 sequence entries, comprising 31293053 amino acids. TREMBL is split in two main sections; SP-TREMBL and REM-TREMBL: SP-TREMBL (SWISS-PROT TREMBL) contains the entries (96757) which should be eventually incorporated into SWISS-PROT. SWISS-PROT accession numbers have been assigned for all SP-TREMBL entries. SP-TREMBL is organized in ...
In message ,9208271604.AA10206 at genbank.bio.net, ODONNELL at ARCB.AFRC.AC.UK (Cary ODonnell) expressed concern about an apparent duplicated use of the sequence ID for two very similar (almost identical!!) sequences. Several people brought to our attention a problem concerning duplicated entry identification codes and accession numbers among the data sections PIR1, PIR2, and PIR3 in the PIR-International Protein Sequence Database. We apologize for this difficulty and have modified our procedures to ensure that this does not recur in future releases. We thank those who brought this problem to our attention and will greatly appreciate any further comments, corrections, or recommendations concerning the database. We will to take this opportunity to restate the policy concerning entry identification codes and accession numbers in order to clarify (we hope) the situation. The entry identification code (on the `header-line in NBRF-format; on the `ENTRY record in CODATA format) is a unique code ...

CiteSeerX - Document Details (Isaac Councill, Lee Giles, Pradeep Teregowda): Both, the number and the size of spatial databases, such as geographic or medical databases, are rapidly growing because of the large amount of data obtained from satellite images, computer tomography or other scientific equipment. Knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) is the process of discovering valid, novel and potentially useful patterns from large databases. Typical tasks for knowledge discovery in spatial databases include clustering, characterization and trend detection. The major difference between knowledge discovery in relational databases and in spatial databases is that attributes of the neighbors of some object of interest may have an influence on the object itself. Therefore, spatial knowledge discovery algorithms heavily depend on the efficient processing of neighborhood relations since the neighbors of many objects have to be investigated in a single run of a typical algorithm. Thus, providing
INTRODUCTION: The public-private ADVANCE consortium (Accelerated development of vaccine benefit-risk collaboration in Europe) aimed to assess if electronic healthcare databases can provide fit-for purpose data for collaborative, distributed studies and monitoring of vaccine coverage, benefits and risks of vaccines.. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate if European healthcare databases can be used to estimate vaccine coverage, benefit and/or risk using pertussis-containing vaccines as an example.. METHODS: Characterisation was conducted using open-source Java-based (Jerboa) software and R scripts. We obtained: (i) The general characteristics of the database and data source (meta-data) and (ii) a detailed description of the database population (size, representatively of age/sex of national population, rounding of birth dates, delay between birth and database entry), vaccinations (number of vaccine doses, recording of doses, pattern of doses by age and coverage) and events of interest (diagnosis codes, incidence ...

Objective Ambiguous definitions of quality measures in natural language impede their automated computability and also the reproducibility, validity, timeliness, traceability, comparability, and interpretability of computed results. Therefore, quality measures should be formalized before their release. We have previously developed and successfully applied a method for clinical indicator formalization (CLIF). The objective of our present study is to test whether CLIF is generalizablethat is, applicable to a large set of heterogeneous measures of different types and from various domains. Materials and methods We formalized the entire set of 159 Dutch quality measures for general practice, which contains structure, process, and outcome measures and covers seven domains. We relied on a web-based tool to facilitate the application of our method. Subsequently, we computed the measures on the basis of a large database of real patient data. Results Our CLIF method enabled us to fully formalize 100% of ...

First, over the years there has been a healthy growth of databases designed to capture many different kinds of specialized information. This years NAR database was updated to include 1330 databases, which are organized into 14 categories and 40 subcategories. Some categories like Metabolic and Signaling Pathways, or Organelle Databases look highly specific whereas others such as Plant Databases, or Protein Sequence Databases are general. Subcategories have similar issues. In some cases categories and subcategories make sense. In other cases it is not clear what the intent of categorization is. For example the category RNA sequence databases lists 73 databases that appear to be mostly rRNA and smallRNA databases. Within the list are a couple of RNA virus databases like the HIV Sequence Database and Subviral RNA Database. These are also listed under subcategory Viral Genome Databases in the Genomics Databases (non-vertebrates) category in an attempt to cross reference the database under different ...

OBJECTIVE: To estimate the lifetime risk of undergoing primary total hip (THR) or knee (TKR) replacement in the UK. METHOD: A Population-based cohort study of 25,845 patients who had undergone a THR and 23,260 patients who had undergone a TKR between 1991 and 2006, using data from the UK General Practice Research Database. RESULTS: The estimated mortality-adjusted lifetime risk of THR at age 50 for the year 2005 was 11.6% (95% CI: 11.1, 12.1) for women and 7.1% (95% CI: 6.7, 7.5) for men. For TKR the risks were 10.8% (95% CI: 10.3, 11.3) for women and 8.1% (95% CI: 7.6, 8.5) for men. Between 1991 and 2006, the lifetime risk of THR at age 50 rose from 4.0% (95% CI: 3.5, 4.4) to 11.1% (95% CI: 10.6, 11.6) for women and for men from 2.2% (95% CI: 1.8, 2.5) to 6.6% (95% CI: 6.2, 7.0). Over the same period, for TKR the risk for women increased from 2.9% (95% CI: 2.6, 3.3) to 10.6% (95% CI: 10.1, 11.1) and for men from 1.8% (95% CI: 1.5, 2.2) to 7.7% (95% CI: 7.3, 8.2). CONCLUSION: The lifetime risk of
Background: Recent clinical trials suggest that thiazolidinediones (TZDs) may increase the risk of congestive heart failure (CHF). However, the effect of TZDs on the risk of incident CHF in unselected populations has not been thoroughly investigated.. Methods: Using data from the United Kingdoms General Practice Research Database, we conducted a case-control study within a population-based cohort of patients with type 2 diabetes. Cases were identified by a clinical diagnosis of incident CHF between January 1st, 2000 and December 31st, 2006 and were then classified as possible or probable cases using prescription data. Up to 10 controls per case were matched on age, physician practice, and calendar date. A drug exposure window of 90 days was used in the primary analysis, which compared patients prescribed TZDs to those with no prescriptions for anti-diabetic medications. Data were analyzed by conditional logistic regression.. Results: We identified 3,405 incident cases (2,632 probable and 773 ...

BACKGROUND: The General Practice Research Database (GPRD) covers over 6% of the population of England and Wales and holds data on diagnoses and prescribing from 1987 onwards. Most previous studies using the GPRD have concentrated on drug use and safety. A study was undertaken to assess the validity of using the GPRD for epidemiological research into respiratory diseases. METHODS: Age-specific and sex-specific rates derived from the GPRD for 11 respiratory conditions were compared with patient consultation rates from the 4th Morbidity Survey in General Practice (MSGP4). Within the GPRD comparisons were made between patient diagnosis rates, patient prescription rates, and patient prescription plus relevant diagnosis rates for selected treatments. RESULTS: There was good agreement between consultation rates in the MSGP4 and diagnosis or prescription plus diagnosis from the GPRD in terms of pattern and magnitude, except for acute bronchitis or bronchiolitis where the best comparison was the

TY - JOUR. T1 - A proposal for a drug information database and text templates for generating package inserts. AU - Okuya, Ryo. AU - Kimura, Masaomi. AU - Ohkura, Michiko. AU - Tsuchiya, Fumito. PY - 2013/7/26. Y1 - 2013/7/26. N2 - To prevent prescription errors caused by information systems, a database to store complete and accurate drug information in a user-friendly format is needed. In previous studies, the primary method for obtaining data stored in a database is to extract drug information from package inserts by employing pattern matching or more sophisticated methods such as text mining. However, it is difficult to obtain a complete database because there is no strict rule concerning expressions used to describe drug information in package inserts. The authors strategy was to first build a database and then automatically generate package inserts by embedding data in the database using templates. To create this database, the support of pharmaceutical companies to input accurate data is ...
Each C Series Controller contains a Juniper Networks database. The database can store SRC data, SRC sample data, SRC configuration information, and a number of user profiles. You store subscriber data in another database. The Juniper Networks database is designed to store a limited number of subscriber entries that may be shared among your subscribers. If you need to have dedicated entries for each subscriber, you can configure the SRC software to use an external directory. We recommend that an external directory store the subscriber data in environments that have more than 1000 subscribers with an average of 3 subscriptions per subscriber. You can also set a limit on the maximum number of search results that the server returns to a client in response to a search operation. You must set the size limit on the basis of the total number of available entries in the Juniper Networks Database.. When the C Series Controller starts for the first time, you must enable the Juniper Networks database. After ...

An extensible rules engine that uses database technology provides a rules evaluation service for applications external to the database server or database management system. Applications are able to utilize the rules engine to provide alternative behaviors based on information against which specified conditions are evaluated. A framework is provided for specifying data definitions that can be referenced by user-defined rules, through creation and use of an evaluation context. Application-specific data types can be defined by specifying data tables and/or variables that can be referenced by rules created for evaluation against data that is associated with the evaluation context. The data against which rules are evaluated can be provided as an in-memory object. A security model is provided in which the privilege to create rules according to a particular evaluation context is controlled by one privilege, whereas the privilege to access underlying tables or variables is controlled by another privilege.

I will explain the reasoning for the mount point layout. First the /ora base directory is used as the parent directory for all oracle related files regardless of how many databases we have. The /fs2000 directory is the file system for a single database. So if we have multiple databases we would create a different file system such as /fs2001 and you would know all the directories for that second database would all exist under fs2001 and the first database would all be under /fs2000. The /s00 directory is for the oracle software. Some people use this directory for all databases on the system but this is a very bad idea. If you have separate software directories for each database it gives you the flexibility of patching each database on the server individually. If you work in a large corporation that has numerous databases on each server you generally have the problem of getting the business owners of all the databases to agree on a date to patch the database. However if you have separate software ...

The present invention provides an improved method of storing, maintaining, and distributing computer intelligible electronic data that substantially reduces the cost and complexity of traditional database management systems. The present invention provides a unstructured database capable of efficiently accessing and storing electronic data, regardless of the datas structure. Instead of slotting incoming data into a predefined rigid storage structure, the present invention analyzes the inherent structure of the incoming data. Based upon the results of this analysis, the unstructured database of the present invention generates a storage model using tokenized symbology representing the inherent structure of the data. The tokenized symbology of the present invention is utilized to provide immediate access to each data field in a given record. The present invention utilizes logical and positional pointers to allow entire records associated with any data field to be generated without the need for
DATA WAREHOUSES OFFER AN EXCELLENT WAY TO CLEAN UP AND STORE YOUR DATA IN A WAY THAT CAN BE EASILY SEARCHED AND ORGANIZED. THATS WHAT THEY ARE FOR.. The important thing to understand, though, is that this is all they are for. They dont have any analytical function, so you need that on top. The fact that data warehouses are so good at tidying up your data can also be a drawback. This is because they are relational databases, which makes them highly restrictive in terms of the kind of data you can store and how you store it.. You only have a certain number of columns and ways to sort and identify each item, so anything that doesnt fit neatly into this poses a challenge-for example, photo or video content, language analysis, and so on. It also means that data warehouses only store past/historical data, also referred to as analytical data. You cant store current real-time (i.e. transactional) data.. This limits the kind of insights you can get out of the data stored in your warehouse, even with ...

Allergies and their levels of sensitivity are individual, so it is impossible to know in advance if the ink could possibly contain some ingredient that will cause an allergic reaction, as the reaction could be caused by an ingredient previously unknown to the customer.. There are certificates for inks that show test results for the ingredients. Many ingredients have permissible limits that are allowed for the product and must not be exceeded, and sometimes the amount of ingredient is so small it cannot even be measured technically with certainty (ppm = parts per million). This means that even though the ingredient is not listed in the product, very small undetectable amount might still occur. This however applies to any and all products on the market today, not just tattoo ink ...
