In recommendation systems, an embedding generated by matrix factorization that holds latent signals about user preferences. Each row of the user matrix holds information about the relative strength of various latent signals for a single user. For example, consider a movie recommendation system. In this system, the latent signals in the user matrix might represent each users interest in particular genres, or might be harder-to-interpret signals that involve complex interactions across multiple factors.. The user matrix has a column for each latent feature and a row for each user. That is, the user matrix has the same number of rows as the target matrix that is being factorized. For example, given a movie recommendation system for 1,000,000 users, the user matrix will have 1,000,000 rows.. ...
Data Collection Notes: The data available for download are not weighted and users will need to weight the data prior to analysis.. Analyses of large HINTS domains usually produce reliable estimates, but analyses of small domains may yield unreliable estimates, as indicated by their large variances. Users should pay particular attention to the standard error and coefficient of variation (relative standard error) for estimates of means, proportions, and totals. Small sample sizes for particular analyses will tend to result in unstable estimates. Additional information about sampling, interviewing, sampling error, weighting, and the universe of each question may be found in the codebook documentation.. Variable names containing more than 16 characters were truncated in order to be compatible with current statistical programs. Therefore, variable names may differ slightly from those in the original documentation.. Each iteration of HINTS consists of a cross-sectional independent sample; however, ...

Injuries in the workplace account for over 6,000 fatalities annually according to statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor. Efforts to alleviate occupational risks are the focus of a partnership between the leading safety organizations in North America, including an ANSI membership organization, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), during North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) week, May 5-11, 2002. With Prevention is the Cure as its slogan, NAOSH, an annual North American continent-wide consumer awareness campaign, is intended to educate employers, employees and the general public on the benefits of preventing work-related injuries and illnesses. This year, ASSE along with the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers and Mexico will encourage new safety activities aimed at reducing workplace injuries and illnesses. Considered the worlds oldest and largest professional safety organization, ASSE believes that occupational safety, health and the environment should be a ...

The release reads: PHILIPS SURVEY REVEALS ONE IN 10 AMERICANS BELIEVE ONLINE HEALTH INFORMATION SAVED THEIR LIFE Survey findings point to the potential of integrated health information technologies and how they will transform the continuum of healthcare A recent U.S. survey commissioned by Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a leading health and well-being company, found that consumers believe web-enabled, mHealth and mobile apps are part of their health care solutions and key to living long lives. For example, one in 10 Americans (11 percent) surveyed believe that if it were not for web-based health information, they might already be dead or severely incapacitated. In addition, a quarter of those surveyed use symptom checker websites or home-based diagnosis technology as much as they visit the doctor, while another 27 percent use these interactive applications instead of going ...
Informal caregivers provide unpaid care to their physically or mentally ill loved ones and play a critical role in the healthcare delivery. eHealth tools, including the broadband internet, can facilitate care processes and impact the caregiving burden through seeking health information and health communication. This study examines the predictors of access to broadband internet and the factors associated with health information seeking and health communication among informal caregivers with broadband internet. We used data from cycles 1 and 2 of the Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS 5) and employed generalized linear regression models with the maximum likelihood estimation. Specifically, we performed a two-part model: (1) a logistic regression model of broadband internet access among all caregivers (n = 929) and (2) a logistic regression model of health information seeking and health communication among caregivers with broadband internet access (n = 404). We found that caregivers ...

Background: eHealth technologies have been found to facilitate health-promoting practices among cancer survivors with BMI in overweight or obese categories; however, little is known about their engagement with eHealth to promote weight management and facilitate patient-clinician communication. Objective: The objective of this study was to determine whether eHealth use was associated with sociodemographic characteristics, as well as medical history and experiences (ie, patient-related factors) among cancer survivors with BMI in overweight or obese categories. Methods: Data were analyzed from a nationally representative cross-sectional survey (National Cancer Institutes Health Information National Trends Survey). Latent class analysis was used to derive distinct classes among cancer survivors based on sociodemographic characteristics, medical attributes, and medical experiences. Logistic regression was used to examine whether class membership was associated with different eHealth practices. Results:

Recommendation system has been widely used in electronic commerce, news, web2.0, E-learning and other fields. Collaborative filtering is one of the most important algorithms. But as scale of recommendation system continues to expand, more and more problems appear. Data sparsity and poor prediction are main problems that recommendation system has to face. To improve the quality and performance, a new collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm combining user-clustering and Slope One algorithm is proposed. In our algorithm, users were clustered into several classes based on users rating on items; therefore the useless information was filtered. Then the slope-one scheme was applied to predict the object rating. The experiments were applied to the MovieLens dataset to exploit the benefits of our detector and the experiment results show that the accuracy of our algorithm is in advance of previous research. ? 2013 IEEE ...

Europe dominated the global microbial surfactants market in 2012, accounting for 54.7% of the overall market. Europe dominates the consumption of microbial biosurfactants due to stringent regulations regarding usage of bio-based products. It is expected to be the fastest growing region during the forecast period. Europe was followed by North America, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.6% in terms of demand, from 2014 to 2020. Asia Pacific is anticipated to grow at a considerable rate due to increasing consumer awareness for bio-based products. Rest of the World (RoW) accounted for a smaller share of the market owing to less consumer awareness and high prices of products ...

The bright orange bag measures approximately 3.5 wide and is available in lengths that would accommodate linear lamps up to eight feet as well as bags that would house CFLS and U shapes. The bag construction is a mixture of polymers that is not only 100% puncture-proof but exhibits suitable resistance for containment. The system also utilizes a tape closure at its opening to ensure a permanent seal.. Our goal is to develop a consumer awareness device that would become synonymous with lamp and battery recycling. This, we feel, could be accomplished by utilizing contacts into the recycling industry as well as consumer awareness programs that would include several types of media i.e.; public broadcasting, press releases, private and state announcements.. Our studies indicate that approximately three million lamps and many more batteries are disposed of in landfills per day. Our current objective is directed at the reduction of at least 10% of these discarded items are from small generators. ...
Real-time large-scale personalized recommendation systems power several user-facing products at many social media and web plat- forms. To meet business requirements, such applications must score millions of structured candidate documents associated with each query, offer a high degree of data freshness, and respond with low latency. To address these challenges, many such systems in practice make use of content based recommendation models based on logis- tic regression. A fundamental problem with content based models is that they are based primarily on the explicit user context in the form of user profile, but do not take into account implicit user con- text in the form of user interactions. We address the following problem: How do we incorporate user item interaction signals as part of the relevance model in a large-scale personalized recommendation system such that, (1) the ability to interpret the model and explain the recommendations is retained, and (2) the existing infrastructure designed ...
A system for sharing playlists and playlist essence with different users. A user desiring to share his or her playlist generates the playlist and a playlist characterization. The playlist characterization is based on acoustic analysis data of one or more songs in the playlist. The playlist and playlist characterization is then transmitted to another end user device. The end user device receiving the shared playlist searches the users music collection for the songs in the playlist. If a gap is detected in the playlist because the receiving user does not own a particular song, the receiving end user devices automatically selects another song that is owned by the user to fill-in the gap. The song is selected based on the playlist characterization with the aim of preserving the essence of the shared playlist.

不過其實這是在玩 HTML 的魔術,HTML 本身再加上瀏覽器 DOM 的能力,本來就可以變出很多的把戲,只是看開發人員要怎麼處理而已。. A. 開始。.
