In this research, we study the effects of the parasitic fractional elements to the dynamic of the memristor where both flux- and charge-controlled memristors have been considered. For doing so, the fractional differential equation-based approach has been used for modeling the memristor and the memristor-based circuits under the effects of the parasitic fractional elements where the resulting equations have been solved both analytically and numerically. From the obtained solutions and simulations, the effects of the parasitic fractional elements to the dynamic of the memristor have been studied. This report documents a series of models for describing intended and unintended discharges from liquid hydrogen storage systems. Typically these systems store hydrogen in the saturated state at approximately five to ten atmospheres. Some of models discussed here are equilibrium-based models that make use of the NIST thermodynamic models to specify the states of multiphase hydrogen and air-hydrogen mixtures. Two types of discharges are considered: slow leaks where hydrogen enters the ambient at atmospheric pressure and fast leaks where the hydrogen flow is usually choked and expands into the ambient through an underexpanded jet. In order to avoid the complexities of supersonic flow, a single Mach disk model is proposed for fast leaks that are choked. The velocity and state of hydrogen downstream of the Mach disk leads to a more tractable subsonic boundary condition. Hydrogen refueling in a metal hydride based automotive hydrogen storage system is an exothermic reaction and hence an efficient heat exchanger is required to remove the heat for fast refueling. In this paper a helical coil heat exchanger embedded in a sodium alanate bed is modeled using COMSOL. Sodium alanate is present in the shell and the coolant flows through the helical tube. A three-dimensional COMSOL model is developed to simulate the exothermic chemical reactions and heat transfer. Due to memory limitations, only a few turns of the coil are included in the computational domain and periodic boundary conditions are applied at both ends.
