The order of retention from the largest to the smallest particles that appears at high field strength and high flow rate corresponds to the focusing mechanism which itself is a consequence of the lift forces acting on the particles. The mechanism of steric exclusion can only be effective at low flow rates of the carrier liquid. Whenever high-speed separation was performed, the focusing effect clearly dominated the FFF mechanism. Abstract Melanin involves in various biological functions, widely used in cosmetic, pharmacology medicine and other felds. However, melanin application is limited due to low productivity and high cost. In this work, melanin extraction method from rapeseed meal (RSM) was explored. Effects of hydrochloric acid (HCl) concentration, ethanol concentration, extraction temperature and time, and solid-liquid ratio were evaluated systematically. According to results of single factor experiment and Box-Behnken experiment, the optimum extraction conditions of melanin from RSM were as follows: HCl concentration, 0.5 mol/L; ethanol concentration, 70%; extraction temperature, 40oC; extraction time, 1 h; solid liquid ratio, 1/4 g/mL. Under these conditions, extraction yields of crude melanin(CM) and purifed melanin (PM) were 9.00% and 1.44%, respectively. Abstract: Microwave-assisted extraction was investigated for extraction of polysaccharides from Catathelasma ventricosum using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The effects of operating conditions (extraction time, microwave power and ratio of water to raw material) on the extraction yield of polysaccharides were studied. A Box-Behnken Design was used for experimental design and analysis of the results to obtain the optimal processing parameters. The present investigation involves the in vitro production of this macrophage modulator (suppressor) by Concanavalin A-stimulated spleen cells. Spleen cell culture supernatant containing macrophage suppressor factor (MSF) caused a significant decrease in in vitro phagocytosis of Listeria monocytogenes by non-elicited peritoneal macrophages. The molecular weight of MSF was determined by ultrafiltration to be less than 10,000, and the modulating activity of MSF was not altered by heating at 100°C for 30 minutes or freezing at -70°C for six months. Sorption and biodegradation were found to directly affect toluene |sup|13|/sup| C/ |sup|12|/sup| C breakthrough curves. In particular, isotope trends demonstrated that biodegradation underwent Michaelis-Menten kinetics rather than first-order kinetics.

There is limited experience and methods for extractions of drug therapy data from electronic health records (EHR) in the hospital setting. We have therefore developed and evaluated completeness and consistency of an automatic versus a semi-automatic extraction procedure applied on prescribing and administration of the TNF inhibitor infliximab using a hospital EHR system in Karolinska University Hospital, Sweden. Using two different extraction methods (automatic and semi-automatic), all administered infusions of infliximab between 2007 and 2010 were extracted from a database linked to the EHR system. Extracted data included encrypted personal identity number (PIN), date of birth, sex, time of prescription/administration, healthcare units, prescribed/administered dose and time of admission/discharge. Mostly it is guess work, We think it is 90%, but it could be 70% as well. In that case you get values in biochemical fractionation.
