The graduates are eligible to sit for a voluntary certification exam. This additional certification is not mandatory for employment in many states, including Connecticut, but employers look upon it favorably. Students are commonly compensated for their certification with a higher hourly wage. St. Francis Hospital, for example, pays an extra $2/hr for the certification.. Following the 2015 spring semester, eight graduates of the Phlebotomy program elected to take the certification exam to give themselves an edge over their competition for jobs. The CHS (Certified in Homeland Security) program is from an organization that claims to be the worlds largest forensic membership association with an 11-year track record. For grins, I just went and filled out their application form, and surprise, I too qualified for Level III certification based primarily on contributing to three security books, teaching six two-day classes on Windows Security for Interop plus three one-day classes on same for The Internet Security Conference (TISC), writing tons of security articles and possessing skills in Windows Security and Perimeter Security tools and technologies. But please note that this certification is also available to those with military, law enforcement or medical forensics training, experience, knowledge and so forth. Its not a pure IT certification play, by any means.. My assessment is that $350 isnt a lot to pay for a certification that you otherwise qualify for, but that its not immediately clear to me that the CHS is a well-recognized ...

ABOUT OCS CERTIFICATION. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a national professional organization representing more than 80,000 members throughout the United States, established the specialist certification program in 1978. Specialization is the process by which a physical therapist builds on a broad base of professional education and practice to develop a greater depth of knowledge and skills related to a particular area of practice. Clinical specialization in physical therapy responds to a specific area of patient need and requires knowledge, skill, and experience exceeding that of the physical therapist at entry to the profession and unique to the specialized area of practice.. The specialist certification program was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience and skills in a special area of practice and to assist consumers and the health care community in identifying these physical therapists.. Space Groups Chief Executive has called for Building Information Modelling professionals to stop being so occupied with accreditation, certification and standardisation and accept that no individual organisation owns a BIM standard and face the fact that the reality is nobody should own them.. In a blog posted on bimstore in the wake of the release of their 13th bimstore bible revision, Rob Charlton has stated that the current land grab for who owns certification, accreditation and standards is not healthy and he would rather we used words such as collaboration and innovation instead of accreditation and certification. He blogged:. Many decision makers in construction today are Baby Boomers or Generation X. They come from an era where professional bodies were dominant and a certified badge was all-important. This was a very one-dimensional world which moved at a very slow pace. We are now in the Information Age and things are moving quickly. We need frameworks and guides, not ...
Generally credentials are listed from most to least permanent. A degree, once earned, cannot, in normal circumstances, be taken away. State licensure is only revoked for serious professional misconduct. Certifications generally must be periodically renewed by examination or the completion of a prescribed number of continuing education units (CEUs). This is often called maintenance of certification (MOC). Nurses may also hold non-nursing credentials including academic degrees. These are usually omitted unless they are related to the nurses job. For instance, those with masters degrees usually do not list their bachelors degrees (only the highest earned degree), and a staff nurse would likely not list an MBA, but a nurse manager might choose to do so. Some nurses who achieve a masters degree (MSN) leave the patient care aspect of nursing, and practice in a more managerial role. An example would be earning an MSN in health care risk management. Such a nurse, while still fully an accredited ...
