Abstract: Seasonal variations of fatty acids were studied in the lipid fractions of the bivalve mollusk, Saccostrea cucullata, at the intertidal zone of Chabahar bay in the northern part of Oman Sea (Iran). Samples were collected in rocky shores between two stations. The analysis were carried by GC/MS chromatography. Thirteen fatty acids were identified, of which, the most important saturated fatty acids (SFA) were 14:0, 4, 8, 12 tri Me- 13:0, 16:0 and 18:0, the mono unsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) included 16:1n-9, 18:1n-9 and 20:1n-11, the polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) were linoleic acid 9,12 18:2 , eicosapentaenoic acid EPA 20:5n-3 and arachidonic acid 20:4n-6.Variability of the fatty acid components were studied in four seasons. Experiments demonstrated that the SB coatings had generally better non-adhesive characteristics, especially at higher values of the electron donor component since the deposits could easily be washed away. For the SB coatings, a longer induction period compared to those of untreated surfaces was observed and a significant reduction of the fouling rate could be achieved. Further analysis of surfaces revealed that SB coatings enhanced the acid-base repulsive force and thus reduced the deposit/solid adhesion energy. The Mesopsychidae is an extinct family of Mecoptera, comprising eleven described genera from Upper Permian to Lower Cretaceous deposits. A depletion force is an effective attractive force that arises between large colloidal particles that are suspended in a dilute solution of depletants, which are smaller solutes that are preferentially excluded from the vicinity of the large particles. One of the earliest reports of depletion forces that lead to particle coagulation is that of Bondy, who observed the separation or creaming of rubber latex upon addition of polymer depletant molecules (sodium alginate) to solution. More generally, depletants can include polymers, micelles, osmolytes, ink, mud, or paint dispersed in a continuous phase. Depletion forces are often regarded as entropic forces, as was first explained by the established Asakura-Oosawa model. In this theory the depletion force arises from an increase in osmotic pressure of the surrounding solution when colloidal particles get close enough such that the excluded cosolutes (depletants) cannot fit in between them. The universe is very far from maximizing its entropy. Most egregious is the gravitational state of the universe, as noted years ago by Penrose. Gravity, being a long range, unscreened, attractive force, maximizes its entropy by clumping. This is quite unlike systems with ordinary interactions (generally of limited range, or subject to screening), whose entropy is maximized when matter and energy are uniformly distributed. In the case of gravity the most entropically dense configurations are black holes, with exp(A) microstates (A is the area in Planck units).
