The present invention relates to a method of constructing an expansion gap between two structural members such as concrete slabs in roads or on bridges. First the concrete slabs are formed with a gap between two adjacent slabs whereupon a surface layer is applied to the slabs to cover the slabs as well as the gap. In addition to a distribution system with over 70 miles of large diameter pipelines and over 30 million gallons of storage, the District owns and operates 4 water treatment plants in Weber, Davis, and Summit counties with a combined capacity of 98 MGD (millions of gallons per day).
