Lilium
A plant genus in the family LILIACEAE generally growing in temperate areas. The word lily is also used in the common names of many plants of other genera that resemble true lilies. True lilies are erect perennial plants with leafy stems, scaly bulbs, usually narrow leaves, and solitary or clustered flowers.
Rift Valley Fever
An acute infection caused by the RIFT VALLEY FEVER VIRUS, an RNA arthropod-borne virus, affecting domestic animals and humans. In animals, symptoms include HEPATITIS; abortion (ABORTION, VETERINARY); and DEATH. In humans, symptoms range from those of a flu-like disease to hemorrhagic fever, ENCEPHALITIS, or BLINDNESS.
Glycosides
Any compound that contains a constituent sugar, in which the hydroxyl group attached to the first carbon is substituted by an alcoholic, phenolic, or other group. They are named specifically for the sugar contained, such as glucoside (glucose), pentoside (pentose), fructoside (fructose), etc. Upon hydrolysis, a sugar and nonsugar component (aglycone) are formed. (From Dorland, 28th ed; From Miall's Dictionary of Chemistry, 5th ed)
Carcinoma, Squamous Cell
Liliaceae
A monocot family within the order Liliales. This family is divided by some botanists into other families such as Convallariaceae, Hyacinthaceae and Amaryllidaceae. Amaryllidaceae, which have inferior ovaries, includes CRINUM; GALANTHUS; LYCORIS; and NARCISSUS and are known for AMARYLLIDACEAE ALKALOIDS.

Commerce
The interchange of goods or commodities, especially on a large scale, between different countries or between populations within the same country. It includes trade (the buying, selling, or exchanging of commodities, whether wholesale or retail) and business (the purchase and sale of goods to make a profit). (From Random House Unabridged Dictionary, 2d ed, p411, p2005 & p283)
Holography
X-Ray Diffraction
The scattering of x-rays by matter, especially crystals, with accompanying variation in intensity due to interference effects. Analysis of the crystal structure of materials is performed by passing x-rays through them and registering the diffraction image of the rays (CRYSTALLOGRAPHY, X-RAY). (From McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 4th ed)
Rotator Cuff
Stupor
A state of reduced sensibility and response to stimuli which is distinguished from COMA in that the person can be aroused by vigorous and repeated stimulation. The person is still conscious and can make voluntary movements. It can be induced by CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM AGENTS. The word derives from Latin stupere and is related to stunned, stupid, dazed or LETHARGY.
Psychomotor Agitation
Osmium Tetroxide
Deuterium Oxide
Perfume
Plant Nectar
Sugar-rich liquid produced in plant glands called nectaries. It is either produced in flowers or other plant structures, providing a source of attraction for pollinating insects and animals, as well as being a nutrient source to animal mutualists which provide protection of plants against herbivores.
Anti-angiogenic activity of convallamaroside, the steroidal saponin isolated from the rhizomes and roots of Convallaria majalis L. (1/7)
Angiogenesis plays a pivotal role in tumor growth and represents a key target for chemopreventive intervention. Despite the large number of existing angiogenesis inhibitors, there is still a great demand for new anti-angiogenic compounds. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of administration of convallamaroside, a steroidal saponin isolated from the lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis L.) to mice on tumor angiogenesis reaction induced by tumor cells. Angiogenic activity was evaluated by mice intradermal test. Convallamaroside showed a significant inhibitory effect on the number of new vessels induced in mice by human kidney tumor cells (p < 0.001). Similarly, administration of convallamaroside to mice decreased the number of new vessels induced by sarcoma mice cells (p < 0.001). (+info)Convallasaponin A, a new 5beta-spirostanol triglycoside from the rhizomes of Convallaria majalis. (2/7)
The rhizomes of Convallaria majalis have been analyzed for their steroidal glycoside constituents, resulting in the isolation of a new 5beta-spirostanol triglycoside, named convallasaponin A, along with two known cardenolide glycosides and a known cholestane glycoside. The structure of convallasaponin A was determined on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis, including 2D NMR data, and the results of hydrolytic cleavage. The cardenolide glycosides showed tumor specific cytotoxic activity. (+info)Imaging fluorescence detected linear dichroism of plant cell walls in laser scanning confocal microscope. (3/7)

Marietta writhed around as she felt that somehow, pleasure ran through her body like an electric shock when her ear was teased.. Just by hearing Belvants low voice alone as it resonated within her ear, her abdomen got hot. As Marietta was bewildered by the strange change of her own body, she leaked out an intense pant.. "The night is long, so I will spend plenty of time to shower you with my love.". So Belvant said as he showed a thin smile. In the depth of his ice blue eyes, an uncontainable flame of desire started to be set ablaze.. As both of her ears were viciously tormented, Marietta gasped hard.
