Salivary ducts include the parotid duct, the major and minor sublingual ducts, and the submandibular duct.Salivary Glands: Glands that secrete SALIVA in the MOUTH. The primary form, often called sicca syndrome, involves both KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS SICCA and XEROSTOMIA. The secondary form includes, in addition, the presence of a connective tissue disease, usually rheumatoid arthritis.Salivary Proteins and Peptides: Proteins and peptides found in SALIVA and the SALIVARY GLANDS. The parasympathetic nervous system generally acts to conserve resources and restore homeostasis, often with effects reciprocal to the sympathetic nervous system.Lingual Nerve: A sensory branch of the MANDIBULAR NERVE, which is part of the trigeminal (5th cranial) nerve. The lingual nerve carries general afferent fibers from the anterior two-thirds of the tongue, the floor of the mouth, and the mandibular gingivae.Adrenal Gland Diseases: Pathological processes of the ADRENAL GLANDS.Exocrine Glands: Glands of external secretion that release its secretions to the body's cavities, organs, or surface, through a duct.Kallikreins: Proteolytic enzymes from the serine endopeptidase family found in normal blood and urine. Specifically, Kallikreins are potent vasodilators and hypotensives and increase vascular permeability and affect smooth muscle. They act as infertility agents in men. Three forms are recognized, PLASMA KALLIKREIN (EC 184.108.40.206), TISSUE KALLIKREIN (EC 220.127.116.11), and PROSTATE-SPECIFIC ANTIGEN (EC 18.104.22.168).Sialorrhea: Increased salivary flow.Sialography: Radiography of the SALIVARY GLANDS or ducts following injection of contrast medium.Salivary Gland Neoplasms: Tumors or cancer of the SALIVARY GLANDS.Xerostomia: Decreased salivary flow.Autoimmune Diseases: Disorders that are characterized by the production of antibodies that react with host tissues or immune effector cells that are autoreactive to endogenous peptides.Parasympathectomy: The removal or interruption of some part of the parasympathetic nervous system for therapeutic or research purposes.Salivary Cystatins: A group of closely-related cystatins found in SALIVA.Mammary Glands, Animal: MAMMARY GLANDS in the non-human MAMMALS.Proline-Rich Protein Domains: Protein domains that are enriched in PROLINE. The cyclical nature of proline causes the peptide bonds it forms to have a limited degree of conformational mobility. Therefore the presence of multiple prolines in close proximity to each other can convey a distinct conformational arrangement to a peptide chain.Dihydroergotamine: A 9,10alpha-dihydro derivative of ERGOTAMINE. It is used as a vasoconstrictor, specifically for the therapy of MIGRAINE DISORDERS.
