Simian foamy virus
Simian Foamy Virus (SFV) is a retrovirus that primarily infects non-human primates, causing a lifelong, persistent infection without apparent harm to the host. It is also known as the "foamy virus" due to the distinctive cytoplasmic vacuoles filled with viral particles in the infected cells. SFV is not associated with any known disease in its natural hosts; however, it can infect humans through close contact with infected primates or their bodily fluids, resulting in a self-limiting, non-progressive infection. Currently, there is no evidence linking SFV to any human diseases.

STLV-1
