Tolloid-Like Metalloproteinases
Toll-like metalloproteinases are a group of enzymes with the ability to degrade extracellular matrix components, including collagen. They are named after the Toll-like receptors, which are involved in the innate immune response. These metalloproteinases have a zinc-dependent protease domain and are capable of cleaving and remodeling the extracellular matrix, playing important roles in various physiological and pathological processes such as tissue repair, wound healing, and cancer progression. However, it's worth noting that "Toll-like metalloproteinases" is not a widely used or formally recognized term in medicine, and the function of these enzymes may be more accurately described using their individual names, such as ADAMTS (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs) or MMPs (Matrix Metalloproteinases).

TIMP

Matrix Metalloproteinase Inhibitors
Matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors (MMPIs) are a class of pharmaceutical compounds that work to reduce the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are a family of enzymes involved in breaking down the extracellular matrix (ECM) in the body. MMPs play important roles in various physiological processes, such as tissue remodeling and wound healing, but when they become overactive, they can contribute to the development of various diseases, including cancer, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease. MMPIs are designed to block the activity of these enzymes, thereby slowing or preventing the progression of these diseases.

TIMP-3
