Myelodysplastic-myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN) are a group of rare, heterogeneous hematologic disorders characterized by overlapping features of both myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). These disorders exhibit abnormalities in the production and maturation of blood cells in the bone marrow, leading to cytopenias (low blood cell counts) and/or increased blast populations. Common MDS/MPN subtypes include chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), atypical chronic myeloid leukemia (aCML), juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML), and myelodysplastic syndrome-unclassifiable with ring sideroblasts and thrombocytosis (MDS-U/RS-T).
