in Pain, Referred by (120 points)

I know that a pinched sciatic nerve causes pain in the back of the thigh. Does a pinched nerve also causes tenderness in the back of the thigh - I mean would be the pain from a pinched sciatic nerve aggravated by applying pressure on the back of the thigh.

I can't find a definite answer from this article about a herniated disc.

I'm asking because I want to know if it is possible to differ between a pinched nerve and muscle strain by checking the tenderness in the leg.

A pinched nerve can occur at a number of sites in your body. A herniated disk in your lower spine, for example, may put pressure on a nerve root, causing pain that radiates down the back of your leg.

Pinched nerve signs and symptoms include:

- Numbness or decreased sensation in the area supplied by the nerve

- Sharp, aching or burning pain, which may radiate outward

- Tingling, pins and needles sensations (paresthesia)

- Muscle weakness in the affected area

- Frequent feeling that a foot or hand has "fallen asleep"

The problems related to a pinched nerve may be worse when you're sleeping. So you should get it treated soon. For treatment, you can refer to Orthopedic Doctor in Delhi, they can provide you with best treatments.
