Bacteriophages are also called as a phages. Phages are the viruses  that infects and replicates within the bacteria. They are composed of a capsule of protein surrounding the  DNA or RNA genome. Because bacteriophages have the ability to infect viruses, they are used in phage therapy to manage viral infections. It is used in the treatment of many diseases. Severe burns infected by several bacterial colonies can be easily destroyed with the help of bacteriophages. In food processing and manufacturing industries, bacteriophages are used to kill the organisms that causes food poisoning. Foot ulcers, abrasions,  cuts and some wounds can also be treated by using phages.
