There are fewer RCTs in pediatrics when compared to adult medicine; in reviews of RCTs published in general and specialist medical journals only 14% of trials enrolled exclusively children. Randomized controlled trials in pediatric critical care: A scoping review. We included published RCTs administering any intervention to children in a pediatric ...

Abstract. Computerised Medline and Psycinfo searches were performed from January 1990 to December 2000 using the terms VIOLENCE, ASSAULT, SCHIZOPHRENIA, SEVERE MENTAL ILLNESS, MAJOR MENTAL DISORDER and PSYCHOSIS. It is probably true that schizophrenia is less of a violence risk than substance misuse, personality disorder and possibly other mental disorders, but when compared with the general population, as this review amply demonstrates, the evidence is overwhelmingly in favour of an increased risk of violent behaviour. Male patients with schizophrenia were twice as likely as men with other mental disorders to have a violent conviction. Two other community epidemiological studies, both finding increased risk of violence among psychiatric patients Link et al, 1992 and those with ...
